While getting her personal high score on Gorf, Liza Minelli once gleefully sang "Life is a cabaret, old chum, come to the cabaret!" - and with that in mind, don't you think it's about time UKVAC had a thread dedicated to these lovely little cabinets?

Cabarets, minis, super minis, trimlines - whatever the particular manufacturer called them at the time, you know what I mean - tiny, but perfectly-formed arcade machines!

There are well over 100 variations of such cabs doing the rounds - please share your pics and stories here!

As a new cabaret owner (and the thread starter, I guess) myself, I'll start the ball rolling...

I've been very lucky to pick up my first 2 tiny cabs in the last couple of months, a beautiful, fully restored Asteroids cabaret (courtesy of minwah

) and a 'needs a little TLC' Astro Blaster (thanks to a heads-up from joe34 on J+

On the subject of Asteroids cabarets, I notice a few people with vinyl CPOs - anyone got the art file to hand they can share? Wouldn't mind completely redoing mine, as the paint is pretty flaky.

Glad this thread came up - it made me go up the shed and have a tidy up so I could get to my cabs, and I even replaced the bushes on my Tempest spinner at last. No more brrrr noise when you use the spinner

OK, so, they may not be minty fresh but they sure as hell aren't bad and apart from two small things, they're completely original. I fitted a new CPO to the Tempest when I got it and I fitted a NOS monitor to the Asteroids when I got it. Oh, and the Tempest is sporting a multi-game.

Gorf I bought in 2001 as my first ever dedicated, Asteroids 2003, Tempest not long after that then finally the BZ came off the Duke. Cabaret's are obviously keepers. Sadly, last year was the first year I haven't heated the shed over the winter as I simply can't afford to any more and all the machines died. I'm just at the point now where I don't have stuff to do for anyone else so i hope to crack on and get mine fixed over Xmas...

I have a brand new screen printed control panel for the BZ to fit.

Oh, i have a new ultra rare cabaret coming in the new year. Not saying what it is yet and I'd appreciate if those people that I have told don't say either!
