When I first fired this up, the sprites would appear for a short time, then keep fading in and out.
As far as I understand the top board handles the sprites.
I checked the 4 roms on the top board, they checked out good. I moved my attention to the 4 2148 rams near the roms. I noticed 2 getting very hot, very quick. I decided to desolder all 4 and put some sockets in.
My tester could not check 2148s, then I remembered I had a track and field soundboard with 2114's that I'd put sockets on. Swapping them out with the suspected 2148's I found 3 that gave sound errors on my track n field board.
No 2148's on hand, found a donor board with some 2149's.
Desoldered them, popped them in and all the sprites were back.
