Cool, I'll give it a go after work. Hopefully it should be all dried out as it's been in my garage for a while now. I took the back panel off when I first got it I found the below connectors were disconnected, with one of them being the main power cable! I suspect it got yanked when it was being moved as one of the pins had been bent and the cable stay pulled out of its slot. So if they didn't test it very closely maybe I'll get lucky and find it works! 🤞

Flashing red standby light doesn't bode well unfortunately but I think in your situation I would always try it. Just put it on some kind of extension lead where you can quickly pull the power without being near it, and just go for it!

You ran it through a transformer - Is it a 110V TV?
I'd just plug in what looks disconnected and go for it - sensible fuse in the plug, setup somewhere away from a shagpile carpet or a pile of sawdust etc.

Sorry John, completely missed your reply! Yeah it’s 110v, I’m guessing it was all they could get their hands on. The machine came with a PS1 gun stuffed in the pedestal so I think when the original RP TV died they just stuck this one in there and hooked a PS1 up over s-video or composite.

I finally tried turning it on today (after buying a fire extinguisher!) and nothing happened. A bit of an anti-climax but it’s better than a fire. The TV does make a powering up noise when first switched on at the wall, so I’m wondering if I should try plugging a PS1 into it or something to see if that brings it to life.
