To paint or not to paint?

Today, I went to town on the coin door hinge and applied some Jenolite rust remover. It seems to be everything remover as the black paint has gone too. I quite like the chrome look and am considering just leaving it like that, will I need to treat it with anything else to avoid corrosion or....is it fine like that?
It will be kept in a living room so won't be exposed to the elements.

You'll probably need to apply som lacquer to stop it rusting again.
