It took us a good few hours, but the monitor really came out great!

Hopefully it'll last another 25+ years. You are a legend mate.

Still going through my favourite games tweaking the colours a bit.

Almost there I think.

I love my Blast City, but, I think I like the look of the Astro City better.

It's very pleasing on the eye imo and goes well with the other machines in my collection.

I recently bought a working MS2930 chassis from Phillv85 in his for sale thread,
really nice guy to trade with. I've tested it with an MS2932
tube which unfortunately has a scratch on the glass, I may try and polish it out at a later date, but for now my OCD can live with it.

So I've spent
a bit of time tinkering dialing it in, there's some slight
side compression (probably due to the different curvatures of MS2930
and MS2932 tubes) but I'm really pleased with the result, no wavy lines and it fills the corners nicely which you can't really tell from the below pic.

It's
difficult to capture just how nice the picture is, the screen is pretty much pin sharp all over. But, since I now have spare Chassis I'll get this one recapped and get it fitted in the Blast City so I can work on the
MS2930 currently in there. Ever since I bought the cab a few years back, both the monitor and PSU have desperately
needed a service. Over the time I've owned the cab I've lost 2 Model3 step2 Videoboards to the PSU
and the screen briefly flicks/ticks (hard to describe) now and again which kinda worries me for long term. But I guess thems are the joys of owning a cab!

Looking good..
Geometry looks fine
I have 3 ms2932 tubes . All bad chassi.
Trying to fix the chassi
Last night I changed the horizontal Ic
Need to connect it back up to test soon..

Yeh less curve I guess will squeez it a tiny bit.

So you are using the 2932 yoke as well?

Yeah, I'm using original MS2932 Toshiba tube with the original MS2932 yoke.

If you can cobble the parts together, combine a MS2930 chassis + MS2932 yoke + compatible tube and you are golden.

I used this thread for reference for yoke measurements:

https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/will-a-nanao-ms-2932-tube-work-with-an-ms-2931-chassis.6246/

There is one issue I've found with this combo though, I can't get 31k horizontal to fill the screen completely. The horizontal pot on the remote board is full, H.S.L pot on the chassis is full and the cable is on the wide pin on the chassis. It's close enough for non OCD types, say 10mm or so either side, maybe recapping the chassis will help slightly?

I get really beautiful picture at 24k and 31k though, so I need to try 15k when I get the chance. It's certainly on par with Toshiba PF image quality tbh, a bit better than Sanwa PXF imo. It's all subjective though, as some people have preference with flat screens.

Very happy with the outcome, I never thought I'd find something to put in the Blast City project I bought off Geordiemick a couple of years ago. Think you bought a project Astro off him at the same time. Just like the 6 Million Dollar Man, we can rebuild him.....it's just taken a wee while to get the parts!

A few weeks back I finally got around to swapping out my nasty old Trimline CP with a much tidier sample. Big thanks to Bones for providing it
