I recently bought a working MS2930 chassis from Phillv85 in his for sale thread,
really nice guy to trade with. I've tested it with an MS2932
tube which unfortunately has a scratch on the glass, I may try and polish it out at a later date, but for now my OCD can live with it.
So I've spent
a bit of time tinkering dialing it in, there's some slight
side compression (probably due to the different curvatures of MS2930
and MS2932 tubes) but I'm really pleased with the result, no wavy lines and it fills the corners nicely which you can't really tell from the below pic.
It's
difficult to capture just how nice the picture is, the screen is pretty much pin sharp all over. But, since I now have spare Chassis I'll get this one recapped and get it fitted in the Blast City so I can work on the
MS2930 currently in there. Ever since I bought the cab a few years back, both the monitor and PSU have desperately
needed a service. Over the time I've owned the cab I've lost 2 Model3 step2 Videoboards to the PSU
and the screen briefly flicks/ticks (hard to describe) now and again which kinda worries me for long term. But I guess thems are the joys of owning a cab!
