Yes Jodo, that would truly be a Grail and there was one back in the day. If I ever spot it I will make an offer but at the moment I could'nt store that beast.

The today's prepairations took me almost the entire day, the 360 would'nt even fit trough the garage door!

So yesterday one of my grail has been delivered.
I wanted to make a cool arrival-video including the unloading process but the driver was such a butcher that I even was feared that he smashes the machine of the lift gate.
So I put my phone in the pocket and helped to unload the machine, so sorry guys but I only have some boring pictures.
So here is it, another SEGA DLX for my collection of mid 80´s SEGA DLX-cabs:

To preserve the machine til the day I going to restore I shrink wrapped it from head to toe.
From what I read in the web the machine seemed to be huge and super heavy but the giant 220cm of lenght turned out to be only 200cm. Also the rest of the machine appears not really as mighty as I thought. Also the 430kg cannot be true as the trucker went down and lifted one side of the machine 30cm to come with the lift jack under it.

I found out why the wheels are dead and that is probably the same reason in 99% of the SEGA DLX-machine, the buyer who has bought it from the original owner/vender did not use the legs but just rolled the machine in the garage, plugged it in and jumped right in.

The legs are not even on the machine anymore...so the previous ownder for sure never used them.
Since the machine is no low to accept the use of a lift jack I looked for casters and found one with got a max load of 230kg, so 720kg for a (not even) 430kg machine will hold just fine...even if I dont use casters, but I will.

The seller said the machine shoots the the fuses, could be a small problem but could also kill the entire PCB. At the wrap-jop I found a very slim cable hanging under the machine, I will find out what it is when I restore the game.

Nice buy and yes, a true grail cab. Congratulations and I really hope it's a simple fix for you.

Since I found a wire hanging under the cab I have less hopehope but on the other hand this machine is not a beauty conditionswise, so the restoration will be something bigger than the ordinary resto-job.

I really hope I find a spare for the broken marquee in the back of the machine...and a shifter cover.

I told Alpha 1 to delete this thread and will stop to post more contant.
If the forum is not interested and only make jokes of me I better leave UKVAC, no reason to make jokes of me all the time.

Please Admins, delete that thread and also my entire profile if you want.

I think you've mis-interpreted the joke! I lol'd because it'd be like having a model draped over a beautiful sports car, or something. Not taking the piss out of you - just saying it's a beautiful cab! That's how I read the joke, anyway...

No, it is because I had (and have on KLOV I think) a profile picture with my portrait because I think that is what profile pictures are meant to be, not to have a pacman-picture or something. I wear a normal shirt, something I wear every day but Jengineer means it shows to much chest.

He made that joke before while I was in a fight with another member (not the best time to post something provoking) and I decided to get over it and thought this is now done.

But it comes again and again. If I look at the statistic that I have 241 people looking in the thread, does post nothing, 2 commented positiv and 3 making stupid jokes/laugh about them I see that the forum is not interesting in my content nor my membership, so the time might have come that I should leave forum.

Well, I didn't know about any of that other stuff that's gone on in the past. I certainly didn't mean any offense to you. It's easy to take offense on an internet forum where none is intended. Maybe our British sense of humour takes a bit of getting used to.

Usually I like british humor...but it does not change the fact that the people does not seem to be interested in my content, the are even so not interested that a shirt joke get more feedback than an Afterburner DX.

So I really should see the signs and leave, I have a private network of collectors (mainly not in forums as they also did not like how the communication turned out in the last years) who are interested to talk about arcade machines and their tech and restoration so I dont have to bother people here.

It does not pay to make pictures of the machine, load them to the computer, create a new photobucket-account as the old one got already limited bandwidth, upload them, open all the pictures and copy the img-link and finally discribe the event and insert all the the img-links for 2 people are interested and 3 making jokes.
I can save me and others time and just leave.
