As Paul has mentioned, it is possible in a car but to be honest it's a bit of a pain. I've now transported 3 full twins and the shell of a twin in a VW Polo. It's not something I want to do again as the poor lil' Polo now has the battle scars to prove it!

Transporting a twin takes 3 trips with the front seat taken out, but I did need to break the cab down completely into pieces. Depending on the length of the Hiace, it may only take you 2 trips and you could probably get away with just taking the side/top/rear panels + monitor off and then sliding the remaining base/frame/seat assy into the Hiace.

Off the top of my head you need at least 170-180cm in length to get the base in, and then you'd need a bit more space for the monitor and panels.

The last twin I bought I ended up paying Martin to deliver it as I did not fancy doing this again!

It was actually ZedEx48k who helped me load the car up in that pic, if it wasnt for him I'd probably still be working out just how to get the upright frame into the car. He is the Tetris master!

I say I'd never do it again, but there's always that off chance of a bargain turning up close to my place which makes it worthwhile. Recently I sold a Daytona 2 to Griffo83x that I'd rescued, after dismantling/carrying/loading the Daytona 2 into the car myself I vowed I'd never ever do it again!......maybe.

It can certainly be a fun and rewarding hobby though, and a lot of crazy things have been done in the name of preservation. It's actually a nice feeling knowing lot of the guys on here are just as/even more barmy than me.

Hope you sort out transporting your cab mate. Because of the availability/price of some spares, a lot of the classic Sega drivers are getting scrapped/converted these days.

Cheers.
