Yeah, I'll be heading down too. This will be my 2nd year. It's a really good weekend.

You can buy tickets on the door, one of my friends did so last time.

Just a bit of travel information for anyone travelling via Banbury, or the M40 Junction 11 @ Banbury (which will probably be most who are travelling from the south - A34 etc., or the south west - West Country, Bristol, etc.)...

Fairport Convention (Cropredy Festival - one of the UK's biggest music festivals) is on this weekend, too.

The official directions (to Cropredy) is to leave the M40 @ Banbury (junction 11) and head up the A361 (the Daventry Road).

That also happens to be the route to Daventry, from the M40.

Basically this means there may be a few travel delays (especially a few miles out of Banbury, where the Cropredy traffic leaves the A361, to go down a narrow country lane).

Also; anyone who's travelling from the south west, your journey may well take you through Chipping Norton (on the Gloucestershire side of Banbury, on the A361)...
Chipping Norton is closed to through traffic for major road works... Avoid it like the plague.

Additionally; Banbury has only one route, through it, going east (the other one is closed for major road works).

Fortunately the remaining east-bound route through Banbury is a dual carriageway and is the signposted route to Daventry (A361) if you're approaching Banbury from any direction (other than the M40).

So add a bit of extra time at the end of your Journey.

Thanks for the heads up. My route from Cheltenham usually takes me straight through Chipping Norton and Banbury. I will investigate alternative routes.

Cheers,

Ade

Stay on the A40, past Witney, get on the A34 at Oxford (then onto the M40 North junction 9), leave at Banbury (junction 11).

Just remember if you're doing the Friday evening thing, the A40 between Witney and Oxford is always sh*te, the A34 more so, and the M40 (between 9 & 10) is even worse.

Might be better to go north, from Cheltenham, up the Fosse Way to Shipston on Stour and take the B4035 to Banbury, turn left at the first roundabout (in Banbury), go straight over the next, Then left (at the third - on the B4100) and immediately right (at the fourth). That takes you onto the "relief" road system - just keep going and you'll end up at the M40 J11.

Any ukVaccer coming up Friday or Saturday morning from Worthing/ Brighton area to the UK Pinball party?

Urgent top-classification ultra-political material needs a courier to bringing Plans stolen from Bothan spies to the event. Can you help?

PM me asap - a good couple of beers involved in transporting stolen Imperial Plans...

I'm bringing some retro consoles and Taiko drum bashing games on behalf of Replay (not taking any cabs this year, unfortunately).

The display will be in one of the syndicate rooms, just beyond the main hall (through the double doors) and will be open from 11am on Saturday and Sunday.

Just dug out my UKVAC Dog Tours 2000 T but it's so faded now I think it's due for retirement :( So I'll probably be sporting an Invaders or Pac or similar.

If like last year I'll likely be spending a bit of time in the bar area catching up with folk so be good to meet some of the newer faces too. Should be there on the Sat.
