Are tickets still available for this or can you just turn up on the day? I'd like to make it up during one of the days but I can't commit to which day yet. Any recommendations as to which day is best?

Dan

Saturday is usually most busy (i.e. rammed), if you want to play in the Open tournament, places may be available on the day, check the tournaments website for more info. Sunday is less busy, you'll get more time to play the machines.

The evenings are just as good as the days, e.g. you could arrive one evening, get yourself a room at the venue and leave the next day. Friday is the ease-yourself-in night, when the team tournament happens, Saturday evening is the meal with Jersey Jack and whatever other surprises Andy and others come up with (or you can do your own thing, places are limited) and Sunday evening is pack-up, where any help is most welcome.

i wont know until after the 31st, im a half point behind second place in the league.

if it helps, i have always liked toblerone, and as a youth i had 1 of your armies knives. i am also just over 18 years of age.

Let me know after 31st, you never know, it might still be available.

Toblerone is now owned by Kraft and now has no quality credentials. No-one buys it here any more. Don't even talk about it. (The Brits have no pride, you should have stopped buying Cadbury's completely, another company would soon have started up to fill the gap. Not that it's any good anyway.

Owning a knife could come in useful in the semi-finals and finals, so that's a good start.

I'm not sure what the 18 years of age bit's about, but one member of the team is about 14, so if there's any age limits, we're already in trouble

Actually, the name "Swiss Team" is a bit of a con, I'm not Swiss, Zoltan is Hungarian, the only Swiss bit is that his daughter was born to a Swiss mother. I guess at least we live there, though...

Seems the draw for team has taken place, and the UKVAC "Steelers" (Dave2084+guddler + partners shaz+sal) have picked ther european greats of Switzerland (Hmm. Gary Flowers is swiss?? And an opportunity to make Mr Eaton regret leaving these shores! ;) The french self confessed Frogs and a predatory lot... Gonna be a battle!!

GROUP C

French Frogs (3)

Fabien Baffault
Nicolas Linque
Eric Rousseau
Franck Bona

The Swiss Team (7)
Phillip Eaton
Zoltan Babiczky
Svenja Babiczky
Gary Flower

UK Video & Pinball Steelers [UKVAPS] (11)

Dave Langley

The Crapsquad (tm) haver their fixtures as follows:

GROUP D

South West (4)

Greg Mott
Eddie Mole
Peter Blakemore
Craig Pullen

Pinheads R Us (8)
Adrian Donati
Dan Hardy
Paul Owen
Martin Wardle

Full Tilt (12)
Alan Syson
Darren Ball
Colin Hampton
Paul Morris

UK Video & Pinball Crapsquad [UKVAC] (16)

Dom Escott
Andy Conroy
Bruce Smith
Mike Coates

Clearly, our rag-tag fleet of ukvac stalwarts have a massive disadvantage being drawn against the "South West" team: We all know Mr G. Motts lethal playing skills, and not excusing Mr Pullen whose a fellow outsider, Eddie and Pete make this team the firm favourites to sweep thru the group playoffs!

We can take comfort that the other two teams, Full Tilt and Pinheads R Us will also, I suspect be presuming they'll take automatic success, leaving the ukvac to fight for a precious 2nd place!

Well, I can say whole-heartedly what a great time I think all the VACcers have had this weekend at the pinball party! I'm sure a great time had by all!

Team-wise I can say that the crapsquad [me, ade, bazifsh and coatsy] despite coming last in our group, came 17th/20 which demonstrates we didn't come last - and indeed seeing we ended up at 17th with 7points, the Steelers [dave2084 and sal, guddler and shaz] can only have done better as they had 10 points!

Was too tired during the closing awards to remember exactly what JohnBud got an award for (having met him 2 minutes before after he thought I jumped him with a earnest handshake and "hey! Youre John Bud! I'm Rav!" which took him aback! But well done for whatever you won at duder!

Great to also see bluebird, d-type and a few others also tickling the flipper bats too! Hope y'all had just as much fun!

indeed i thought i was getting jumped
smiley36.gif
i was just coming back inside having been properly smoking with a couple of peeps. sadly we didnt really have time to blether as i was too busy losing my phone and collecting my award
smiley20.gif
i think pete from sega naomi was looking for you guys. i met quite a few members from different sites. the tables on friday for me at least were way to sensitive. i tilted 2 of my balls
smiley18.gif
sunday however was different
smiley20.gif
the tables for the uk pinball finals were bang on. you could at least play them without the worry of a tilt, makes for better play. it was a bit trembly for me playing dave, i get star struck at times. there was too much reflection on a lot of machines, the lights should have been off. but i really had a good weekend overall. we went camping in rugby, so we went to different places. the indian restaurant was bonkers, free beer
smiley36.gif
the food was naff though. i think they were a bit worried about us. the pizza on friday from dominoes was the pits, £9 for a tandoori pizza, total rip off. it was more like a cheese pizza. the only reason i didnt go back was because i was out voted, no hassle policy. but it was good to play so many tables at the 1 place. the next event is replay
smiley20.gif
im hoping to meet and talk to a few of you guys at this. i go to these things but generally stick to outside places, no smoking indoors
smiley36.gif
so hopefully see some more of you guys then. uk pinball party 7/10 would i go again yes indeedy
smiley20.gif

cheers.
