I think that's probably a really good point worth noting:

Yet standard RSPro caps seem to be doing a good enough job. I tend to buy 25-100 each purchase, I had to buy about 400 from ebay recently, but the ultra-subminiature type. Tolerances very good, and always fit uprated voltage/temperature values.

In that ... perhaps if a monitor chassis has one of the newer, replacement PCBs in there ... is there any real point trying to preserve the best of the best of the best in there, if it wasn't built with them in the first place?
