Hi Arcadians,
I am delighted to announce the first Ukvac meet of 2023 is going to be held at the Arcade Archive in Stroud Gloucestershire.
A whole day of gaming and socialising with fellow Arcadians and a chance to help repair stuff in our newly built repair lab.
We have a small tuck shop and we will be ordering a takeaway around 6pm
The event will start at Midday and finish at 11pm
Limited numbers so order your tickets now in the link below.
Look forward to seeing you all
Many thanks
Alex

Depends what you're looking for, how much you want to spend, bringing the partner/kids, Gaming and going or making a weekend of it?

There is a Premier Inn in Stroud which is about 4 miles away, it's... a Premier Inn... (15 min drive)
There is also a Travelodge in Stonehouse which is the far side of Stroud - it's a Travelodge.... (20/25min drive)

The Crown Inn at Frampton Mansell is a wonderful pub (stunning view from the beer garden) does good pub food and also has an annex building about 12 rooms.

Approx. 7 minute drive
The Crown Inn ~ Frampton Mansell, The perfect traditional Cotswold Hotel & Pub venue (thecrowninn-cotswolds.co.uk)

The Bell at Sapperton - 10 mins drive away now also does a few rooms, but going to be pricier than the Crown, more boutique style - also great food (again much pricier than the Crown)

The Rooms — Bell at Sapperton (bellsapperton.co.uk)

The Ragged Cot - 5 mins drive, recently changed hands but used to be a good pub last time I went in

The Amberly Inn and The Bear at Rodborough - both 10 mins drive up on the common

Our Rooms - Welcome to The Amberley Inn
The Bear of Rodborough Hotel, Stroud (cotswold-inns-hotels.co.uk)
I've not been to either recently for a beer though - the view from the Amberly inn is pretty special though (and the Black horse in the same village is good for food)

There are some really upmarket places - Burleigh Court Hotel, but I think that's straying into high end 5 star territory and I've never been

I've never actually stayed in the places mentioned as I live here :D But The Crown and The Bell are regular haunts of mine for food and drink

Stroud has a really nice market on Saturday morning, and there is the 5 Valleys centre with loads of food places

Stroud Brewery, Felt Cafe and Lavender Bakehouse are all good options for food during the day, but beware they'll be busy on Saturday

/end Stroud Valleys tour guide post :D
