I’m pleased to announce that the planned migration to a newer platform has been confirmed.

This current forum will be LOCKED FROM NEW POSTS on SUNDAY 12TH FEB ready for Migration commencement on the Monday.

Migration will take several days so expect to be down for at least 3 days, probably 5 to be sure we’ve completely checked everything.

If anyone wants to clear down PMs please do so as it’ll reduce the cost we have for the migration.

All users will keep their handles but a UNIQUE password will be used which we will require users to changeto first log back in.?

I will expound more during this week on what is being transferred?

Regards,

Rav and the Ukvac admin team?

Sorry - I meant to say a unique password but not given out - everyone will need to use the forgotten password? Option

Well that's boring, I was imagining the mad scramble of everyone hitting refresh to grab their username again before someone else nabbed it.

Deleting text PMs saves money?

What about all the uploaded images in our profiles? That must be infinitely more MB of data?
The problem with deleting those is it wrecks old forum posts as many useful images vanish, replaced by red ‘X’s’

I have a ton of messages but I'm hesitant to delete them as I occasionally search through them to find some info I've needed at a later date.

Seems a crazy way of charging extra for just a load of text messages, but I'm sure you know what you're doing. :) Good luck hope it all goes smoothly.

Surely you can copy and paste them into a word doc?
