I wonder if you can just blow away anyone with PMs that's been inactive for maybe >3 years or something? I presume we've got many more dormant accounts than active ones...

I also tidied up some of my files, but for most have no idea if they are still linked to pm shame it doesn't delete them when all copies of the pm are removed.

You could always do what I did, just accidently delete the entire Inbox

I managed to salvage and manually paste and copy to Word some ongoing messages from the Outbox, so all was not lost

Anyway, my mailbox is now totally empty. Looking forward to the new forum

I regularly check old PM's for information and sometimes pick up conversations from years ago so I'll just donate a bit more money to help out rather than delete my PM's.

Well folks...

To quote Pop Will Eat Itself

At the days end the current forums will lockdown and be read-only... With luck the migration to XENFORO forums will take between 2-4 days, plus allow 1-3 days of admins checking...

For some, a hard week without the Vac... Bear with us... As we'll only have Facebook for status updates, look there - I'm sure as hell us admins are going to be busier than hell!

Some stats, as at now (not at lockdown), these are the figures:

Users: 7269
Category 10 Categories with 49 Sub-Categories
Topics: 79,687
Posts in topics: 538,821
Private Messages (conversations): 455,532

Thats over
Nuke
1 MILLION POSTS
Nuke
- PHEW!

Thanks to those that have cleared out unwanted PMs - we get charged by the post so it all helps.
Thanks that have also donated this week (you know who you are
Clap
) - its especially needed at this time.

Lets hope its a smooth ride and not a rollercoaster! Unless theres something important I need to add before the kickoff thats me signing off and heads down for the big 'M' !!!

Whatever happens...

We are ukVAC... We Are Us... This IS This!

Anyone else find their PMs are still there despite deleting them all?
Funny story that.

Turns out webwiz when a user deletes them, keeps them in the SQL db and just hides them from the user. Assuming some sort of single reference if the sender doesn't delete but the recipient did or vice versa.

We learnt about that dB feature after the PM import.

I have 807 pages of PMs 😍😍😂😂😂

Do you 'leave conversation' to delete them, since there is'nt a button or dropdown I can see with 'delete' in there.

does it actually delete them once all parties have left the conversation, or do they live forever (or until next migration!)

does it also delete any attachments / pictures embedded in them as well, that would be useful to free up some space long term.
