Thought it would be good to see some pics of your video game series collections.

My series obsessions are;

Final Fight
Street Fighter
Metal Slug

So please show pics of your games (arcade/console), books, toys etc, anything you've got for a particular series.

I'm just taking some pics now, will post what I've got for the above series in a bit

Final Fight

I was introduced to Final Fight in the arcade by my mate back in the 90s. I was instantly addicted and am still obsessed with it today

Street Fighter

I loved playing Street Fighter II/Turbo bitd on my SNES. Also played it in the arcades up to Street Fighter IV.

As Mark H says, playing the games at home on a CRT RGB Scart @ 60Hz is amazing compared to 50Hz composite like I did bitd. Getting a NTSC SNES on ebay in early 2000s was a game changer - couldn't believe the difference.

Metal Slug

When I first got a Neo Geo Home System (AES) in early 2000s, I managed to get Metal Slug 3 JP (AES, 2nd Edition) for about £125. It was the most I had spent on just a game. A couple of years later the PS2 version came out and I thought that the AES versions would quickly reduce in value and so I sold it for £130. In hindsight I wish that I had kept it!

Once I got a Phantom-1 converter, I bought Metal Slug and Metal Slug 2 on MVS from Korea for about £100 delivered. What a bargain. Haven't stopped playing them since!

Wow some lovely items there and seriously impressive collections.

What do you think of Final Fight Revenge? At the time I was so disappointed Capcom didn't do a proper 2D scrolling fighter sequel on the Saturn. I'm keen to give it another go though, it doesn't look as bad as I remember.

Also what's the story with that green Metal Slug 2 cart? I've never really understood the variations in MVS cart colours. Do the colours reflect region like CPS2 boards?

I'll dedicate this exhibition to Vic after spotting a post of his stating this was one of his favourite games.

Warning - this isn't all of it, just what was readily available and doesn't include all the PCBs I've got for the arcade games from MK up to MK4. Owned two MK2 cabs once upon a time (Midway & Electrocoin) - now gone though. Some rare ass pieces in the first photo.

Enjoy Vic.

Me too, would love another 2D scrolling fighter
sequel, with maybe some Street Fighter Zero characters (like Final
Fight One with Cody/Guy Zero versions). I haven't given Final Fight
Revenge a lot of play time yet, despite having it for years. Gradually
going through the games. Just playing Final Fight CD at the moment.

I originally thought Metal Slug 2 came in black only. I came across the green cart, completely original cart, label and pcbs. I swapped the pcbs with a Turbo one that a member was selling on here a while back. As far as I'm aware, the colours do not represent particular regions, although milky white were the rental carts in Japan and red carts were usually for Korea.

I remember seeing that final fight revenge being advertised in the back of a magazine bitd for £60 brand new , I ummed and ahhed and decided to pass on it as it didn't look that great , wish I had bought it now.

I have played it since and it's not too bad for a bit of 1 player fun.

Nice collections!

I was about to say you needed to get PC engine SF but then I spotted the card.

Cheers Matt, that's the only card I've got. Got an everdrive for my pc engine. I was too late to the party and the games are too expensive these days

Capcom always were/are great with lore. Colourful characters and sprites. No surprise you love SF and Final Fight so much (Same universe of course) I am thinking of making either a dedicated final fight or street fighter jamma cab.

Havent really got the collection anymore, but another Capcom favourite resident evil always had great memorabilia

That would be so cool. Look forward to seeing that. Final Fight would be good

That Street Fighter collection is immense, my son would go crazy over those. He is only 12 but knows nearly all the moves and beats my button bashing all the time. If I show him this, he will want to start a collection too.

I suppose I have a bit of a Doom / id Software collection going on. I got these signed by John Romero at the Centre for Computing History a couple of years ago.

I'll take some pics of my OutRun collection when I get a chance.
