I can't wait to get past level 3 just to find out what type of level it will be.
I've found its a slow paced shooter, you can't rush the bosses.
Takes me nearly 3 minutes just to kill the crab boss on level 2.
Some of the enemies are very well designed and drawn.

Discovered this in MAME, had never heard of it before. Really enjoyable though, what with the great graphics and music. Don't think I ever got past the second level though! Was there a dedicated cab/marquee ever?

I doubt there was a dedicated cab with it being an MVS game.

Well that goes to show how much I know about this game then!

Although I bet I could tell you the origins of all the (probably unlicensed) audio samples in the music :)

Viewpoint is an awesome isometric shooter... definitely one of my favourites on the system.

As already said, there was no dedicated cab, the only MVS game that saw a dedicated release was Samurai Shodown II.

And there was no official header marquee but there were flyers and mini with the MVS kit.

I remember it coming out on the AES but could never afford it, it was £200 at the time. (1992 ish )
I ended up with an AES copy 4 years ago and got the Arcade bug again.
Now I've sold all my AES collection and started my MVS collection.

I stll have my AES cart that I had bitd... would never part with it even though I have the MVS cart also.

Glad to hear it gave you the arcade bug again... and especially by starting you on the MVS road.

I have finished the game in 1996 on my neo geo aes with 1 life, score was around 800.000 points. I made a video of this, it couldn't believed it was real !onfre2017-09-17 21:34:25

This is one nasty but great shooter with an unbelievable sounnd track ! I have just got it on MVS now so I will start to practice as I know you have to memorise some of the enemies movements to progress later on past level 2.

Released in 1992 it retailed at £225 due to SNK's own restricted supply...

Great game...
