This came to me with a terrible picture. It had geometry, purity and sync issues.
A recap later and the purity and sync issues remained (To be fair a recap was never going to fix the purity
).
The purity was easy enough, just a quick replacement of the PTC.
The sync issue however, was a different story.
Vertical sync would just about lock but next time it was switched on it had lost it again.
The issue was C601 (10nf) on the V sync input at pin 19 of U701. It was reading 0.5nf on the tester.
