hi all..

Just thought id tell you about the odd thing thats happened with my cab centuri phoenix cab.

My phoenix cab has had a faulty WG monitor in it for over 6 months, during this time it was switched on many times by my mates always hoping to play it, but everytime ive had to explain it had a faulty monitor so they never got to play it.

The problem with the monitor was vertical field collapse. I never bothered to fix it, it spent many hours on in this condition and has spent random times on in this condition. But the faulty has alays remained consistant.

Anyhow.. recently ive bought a few replacement monitors as spares and tonight I decided I would replace the monitor in it.

I like to document things so I thought id switch on the cab as it was with the fault to take a photo, and hey bloody presto its working no problem.
Ive even switched it on and off hoping to get the fault back.. but nope.. the screen is working faultless.

So my advice to you all, if you have a faulty cab, threaten it with new parts.. and you never know it might magically fix it self all on its own...

Tomorrow awaits ... :)

Has anybody else had something simliar happen??

I can relate to that, I'd love to know what the problem was though.

Hi Luke,

I had something very similar happen to me with my single cab sitdown Daytona.

I bought it without boards and then once I'd bought the boards and installed them then the game booted fine and when through all its diagnostic checks but no picture on the monitor. I'd switch it on once or twice a week for months but the same thing happened - I assumed that the monitor was shot.

Anyway, one day I had the unit on with the seat up seeing if I'd missed anything for the thousandth time. Nothing ... so I shut the seat down and HEY PRESTO ... the monitor bursts into life!! ... perfect picture, no screen burn or anything!!!

Basically, the safety cutoff switch under the seat was faulty!!!

Bearing in mind I'm no techy I'm sure others would have sussed this out much sooner than me!!!

well i switched it on again today.. and its still working!!

well weird..

I thought it might be dry joints ro something, but its happy with a cold
start and happy once its warmed up..

I wonder if its that fact that sat in front of the cab is the threatening
replacement WG monitor I was going to stick in it. :)
