I can't see the chassis model anywhere. Think I might need to discharge the monitor and take out the chassis to find it
..unless someone knows what chassis usually goes with this tube? Mame4All2014-08-02 05:25:53

that is a capacitor problem, capkits do not exist as such-a few sellers made up kits for certain models

in your case i am quite sure that is one cap causing that problem-can't remember which one though but its in the heat shield area

Thnx for the replys all. Am I right that's deffo a cap problem? I'm struggling to find a capkit for this

Safely remove the chassis. Look at caps, and make a note of them and there position. Buy equivalent caps on eBay. Replace caps.

Whether or not this will fix your problem, I don't know

Sorry what area of the chassis is the heat shield ?

the heat shield is the metal frame that surrounds the flyback transformer and most of the heat producing components are bolted to it

caps can only be tested using a esr meter or capacitance meter,it would be wise to change any electrolytic caps that are close to heat sources in any case

i have the schem in front of me and i would suggest the following caps to change as a shotgun job,

801

612

805

807

433

803

618

804

613

614

611

in regards to korteks you must note exactly the polarity of the cap you are removing as the circuit boards are often marked incorrectly and change each cap one at a time
