What grease for mechanical controls?

What type of grease would you guys recommend to lubricate mechanical, non-electrical parts of a controller, such as metal/plastic cogs, etc?

sanwa use silicone grease in their joysticks;

their grease is classed as 'medium' (as opposed to light or heavy grease)
