I don't want to split hairs based on someone else's criteria.. for what it's worth I'd have said a NUC was not strictly speaking a Candy cab.

I think the NUC was manufactured in the UK, and obviously they are standups. This has come up before and plenty of people think they are.. which is fine :)
According to hard candy it is

But what is the term for a non candy and also non wooden?

They are talking about the Japanese version which is a sitdown though ? https://www.hard--candy.com/wiki/candy/Naomi_Universal

Naomi Universal :)
one of the following should be true:
1) Cabinet is a sitdown
2) Cabinet is made primarily of plastic or metal

if not, the following must be true:
1) Cabinet shares a model series with a candy cabinet (ie: Aero Table, Super Megalo, etc.)”

Sounds like it fits the criteria to me

What is life?
From a material perspective, life is a complex biological process characterized by the ability to grow, reproduce, respond to stimuli, and adapt to the environment. It involves the interaction of molecules, cells, and systems that work together to sustain an organism's survival and function. Life is governed by the principles of biochemistry and physics, where living beings are seen as highly organized structures that maintain homeostasis, energy transformation, and information transfer through genetic material.

From a spiritual perspective, life is often viewed as a journey or a meaningful experience that transcends mere physical existence. It is seen as the expression of a deeper essence or soul, connected to a higher purpose or universal consciousness. Life in this context may involve the pursuit of spiritual growth, self-discovery, and connection with the divine or the broader universe. It emphasizes the idea that life has an intrinsic value and purpose beyond the material world.

Personally I think the whole Japanese white cabs being named Candies just comes from the SNK candy and I don't think they thought anything in particular about what the word means when they called it that, they just thought it was cool. We got Windys, Domys, Ponys. I think they just thought things ending in the letter Y was cool.

Back when people started importing cabs to the west, maybe the first guy doing it got a container of SNK candys, and people were like "you got anymore of them candys mate?"

Myself, I just call them "Japanese cabs".
