Hi guys, it's apparent that more and more vaccers are getting into the steel ball. I took the plunge last year and (thanks Rav!) got myself a Black Knight from 1980. I chose BK because it was about the only Pin I could remember and it fits in nicely with my gameroom vids which are all 1979-1984 era.

So c'mon, what Pins have you got or are you looking to aquire?

Started off wanting a Space Invaders but after going to the Scottish Expo and staying at JB's, I quite fancy a Dracula

Dracula's got some really neat features - and it's a great theme, though I guess that's obviously down to personal preference.

I've got a DE Star Wars, a Black Knight 2000 (currently on holiday at Rav's following last years Slam) and a Tron (Pro)

I have a Pinbot, as it was the only one that I ever played enough to get some of the rule set.

Unfortunately my house is tiny, no room for any more, I had to completely remove the backbox to get it through the front door as it is.

I really like Pinbot, although I've probably played it more on the Williams Pinball collection on the 360 than in real life

Gudd, your BK2K is still there!?!?! I'd love to have a go on a Tron, heard nothing but good things about it.

Yeah, the BK2K's still there - I really should pull my finger out and get it back down here. Bit of a case of out of site out of mind though. There's more to it than that though, it's having some work done too and I'm just as lazy about that. Just not being into the arcade stuff lately!

Tron is indeed excellent. I'm still loving it and I've had it well over a year now.

I've got a DE Phantom of the Opera, had it since 1990. Love it to bits. It's got a really funky soundtrack, kind of a fusion between harpsichords and funk bass. When the organ ramp opens you get the fugue and canon. Awesome gameplay. I'd love another pin but they do take a lot of space up.

I have The Simpsons and Harlem Globetrotters. The simpsons is great fun to play with ace audio. Both need a bit of restoration though.

got 2 at the moment, bram stokers dracula and a revenge from mars. ive had another couple but got rid of them, and am now chasing 1 of 3 up for grabs. id love a de star wars, cracking sounds. ive played on loads of pins over the years, and watched the pin scene getting bigger. a few years ago most of my non cab owning mates would quite happily play some vids, now they want pinball. im quite lucky as i know a few owners of pins, and most are happy to swap machines with each other. i think pinballs are more personal that vids though, its as if there is a merging of man and machine. my mrs loves playing pinball too, which is handy, lol. but a word of warning, never buy a pinball unless you have played it first. there are so many different styles of pinball, its very easy to buy a game you will grow to hate. its like buying a puppy, you will know after a couple of credits whether a games is for you or not.

I agree John, the DE SW has fantastic sound. I love the 70s cheesy disco themes and the sound and lightshow when you get multiball are almost unparalled in pinball IMHO.

I currently have a Roadshow, No Fear and a Congo (on loan).

I'm after an AC/DC soon. I've tried to resist, but I don't think I can much longer.......

For some reason I get drawn back to Steve Ritchie games over and over. I just love the flow of his games, the guy's a genius and a top geezer to boot.

I really want a BK2000 at some point to Martin if you ever want to sell it. I still have the soundtrack looping around my head from the Slam last year! :)

My problem is that all my pins are keepers for now, Tron because that's the way it was bought (NIB etc.), and it also feels like a SR pin - I still can't believe he had nothing to do with it. Star Wars is a keeper because of all the history attached to my machine with the SW shows we used to take it to, etc. and BK2K because, well, just because! I think my Mrs would lynch me for starters.

There will come a time though when life is more important than toys and possessions. Bound to happen one day.

When it comes to SR games, to me, they feel very fast and furious with a great flow to them and often a simple points based rule set - though not always. He seems to go for gameplay over features / toys, and yet has been responsible for some great "Firsts" in gameplay over the years.

Great guy. I just wish he wasn't so deaf, we could have had some great conversations with him down the pub when he was over, if only he could have understood a flippin' word any of us were saying

I'm not sure John, I've bought a few tables blind and have loved them. No Fear is a good example. I felt I'd dig it as it essentially it's a 'best of' SR table, but really fell in love with it when it arrived. Congo is another example, it would never have crossed my mind to get one due to the terrible theme and fairly poor reputation, but it's a great game. That said, a turd is a turd....!

Martin - yeah, it is a shame about SR. The deafness, coupled with our british accents, along with the general pinball noise at shows, made it really hard to talk in any meaningful sense. When I arrived with my games to set-up on Friday at the Slam, he was literally the first person to come up to me to say hello. It took me 30 secs or so to clock who he was, but he was so unassuming and kind, it really took me aback.

I had a game on my No Fear with him and got possibly my all-time worst score, whilst Steve carressed, nudged and shouted at it like it was an old friend. On ball one he shouted 'It's ME game!, place NICE!' He immediately hit the tube and it promptly gave him a flukey extra ball!

It's that 'flow' quality that really makes a game for me. I do like playing the slower, more strategic games, but nothing beats a few beers and a session 'in the zone' where you hit ramp after orbit after ramp!

I really want a pin but can never decide what I actually want.

I used to have a black hole pin table but traded it years ago, was a pretty dull game thought and kept breaking.
At the time I liked the idea of 2 playfields but the ball kicker kept burning out so it would get stuck and id have to reset and open it up to sort it out.

I suppose Id quite like a Mario pin, but they are slightly bigger than most pins so that put me off as it needs to live indoors.

Guddler gave me a couple of credits on Tron during my last visit which was pretty good but I dont really have several £K to buy something like that.

Lost in a sea of tables that I've got zero nostalgia for to help me out...

One day maybe.

So where's a good place to look/buy pins from ? excluding ebay of course.

The UK pinball lists are still pretty friendly and there's the pininfo site now too.

As per arcade purchasing, it's buyer beware time on eBay.

There are still DMD games to be had <£1000, loads more if you like Gottlieb.

hey guys,

currently in the gamesroom
Addams Family
Twilight Zone
Theatre of Magic
Freddy Nightmare on elm street
Revenge from Mars pin2000
Cirqus Voltaire

Revenge from Mars is awesome in the way it works, really clever but personally for me the gameplay is not a patch on the taf/tom.

Considering getting rid of the revenge from mars and cirqus but really really want a simpsons pinball party (just for the theme lol), they seem very elusive !
