My last dedicated left the house yesterday for a new owner and to be honest it is a weight off my mind - although they have behaved themselves over the last few months i couldn't help but worry each time i looked at them that they would break when i next switched them on. I bought a Nintendo cocktail in January and when i switched it on the LOPT blew - it seems like this was a very rare monitor and no spares were available, i tried everyone i could think of in the UK and also a load of people on KLOV, including some real experts - everyone agreed the monitor was unfixable...
So, this has got me thinking - many people here can do some very cool stuff - for instance there is the tv tube that was used with a vector chassis.
But what things, when they go wrong, are truly unfixable due to a complete lack of parts or knowledge, that when it happens to a machine there is absolutely no way of getting it fixed....
