Aside from the obvious movie tie in, and the funky doors, are they actually any good to drive as cars ???

Seems to me that it's just an awful lot of money for an awful lot of trouble.

It's my understanding that they were a pile of shyte

It depends, the ones sold here had more power than the American version (emission laws in certain states over there), but they're generally in better condition over there due to better weather etc. The chassis was designed by Lotus, but undocumented changes were made when they went into production (something like the front end sat higher than the back, can't quite remember), so the handling suffered. It could be modified to fix that I suppose, but I can think of many better cars to spend the kind of money they fetch on.

R8? The V10 is the one to have, but they drive just like a lambo - it is a proper supercar though.

either bad or good in anyones view, it is an Iconic car!

Such a pity that the mold press tools are in the bottom of the sea at the local dock to where the factory was.

They have been used to moor/secure boats/ships to as they were several tonnes each.

Money buys time
So if I had loads of money and no bills to pay
Travel the world with family
Get some nice motor bikes
Bit of paragliding
And set up a arcade with a paid technician constantly fixing my machines with open days for all

I'd do the same, can't have too many guitars and audio gear. By the way, you have excellent taste sir!

I have a Sunburst Jag, white '68 strat (Jap), Westone Thunder 1A… amongst others (Gibsons, Rickenbackers…), currently looking at getting a white Jag / Jazzmaster.

Ive currently let my Evo go,but im craving another Project......

Next one will have to be over the last 440Bhp........

I built a YB powered Granada a good few years back, spent a fortune on the thing, and could easily have spent more having the engine redone. It had Stage 3 at 330BHP, and felt really quick, although in practice it wasn't uber quick off the line because of the turbo lag, once spooled up, it shifted big time.

Then I came to my senses, got rid of it and bought an E55 AMG Estate. Supercharged 5.5L V8, 470BHP and 700NM of torque. 0-60 in 4.5 - considering it's a big car and automatic (and you CAN fit a cab in it!), they're not bad figures. They can be mapped too to over 500.

Others I looked at in a similar vein were the new M5 and Audi RS6. I liked the 4WD of the Audi, but unless you go for the newer V10 version, the interior looks too dated.

Mark.
