still can't find them. I can obviously buy them again but I don't have the cash at the moment!

Right,

I emptied my garage out over the weekend and am halfway through it. I will find that box of IJ pcbs!

In the mean time I got some chromed playfield support brackets. I've also put the actual under support rails into the chromers for that final touch.

Enjoyed looking through this restoration, hopefully it will be all up & running shortly, these projects of bringing things back to life are pretty inspiring, just not sure I have the technical know how to do a project like this myself.

Hi,

It's actually sitting in my office minus pcbs. The ones I saved and the spares I had are pretty much all toast, so I need about £600 to either buy original working ones, or buy repro replacements from Rottendog or PinLED.

So it's kind of sitting on the back burner till I can do that.

I actually bought some chromed flipper buttons nuts for it last week - I should probably update with a photo

Bummer dude. Are you sure they are beyond saving? Lots of folks can repair boards over on the Yahoo lists.

They can be saved some of them i'm sure but I would imagine it's still a couple of hundred pounds and an element of some new boards also.

I'll work something out don't worry

Update!

Ok I have made the decision to get new replacement pcbs from PinLED - so watch this space!!

In the meantime....

Remember the Apron?

WP_000588.jpg

Well.................... into a box it goes to be chromed....

IJ_apr13.jpg

and.... BOOM!

IJ_apron1.jpg

The original was a little dented along the front where the two hooks sit flush with it. My mate is a panel beater so he beat it back to perfection and then it has been shot blasted and mirror polish chromed.

laying the apron decals down as a mock up, which reminds me I need to sort some decent instructions playing cards out!

Update

Remember the gun handle parts? I got a NOS handle but the actual bolts and trigger and other parts for it were rusty and pooped.

WP_002656.jpg

I stuck them in a bag

IJ_gun1.jpg

And off they went to be either polished or chromed...

I got the gun parts back, and am now pretty much ready to re-assemble the IJ gun handle.

The actual 4 bolts that bolt the gun to the cabinet
IJ_gun2.jpg

The steel trigger. This has to be polished up. The picture doesn't do it much justice - i'll try and get a better one!
IJ_gun3.jpg

The actual bolts that hold the gun handle casings together. There were cleaned up and also chromed

A far better picture

So! IJ gun handle assembly here I come..

Stay tuned.

IJ_apron2.jpg

I have a slightly better pic of the same thing here. I lined the decals up and started to remove the extra sides (basically the offcut I don't need - these were die cut).

IJ_apr14.jpg

I then lined them up and started to align them and tape them down with masking tape

IJ_apr17.jpg

Trusting the masking tape completely I used this to pull against the apron and then stick the apron stickers down carefully without creating any air bubbles and having a perfect alignment.

Boom. The finished article
