Remember this? Dang, I think these bolts are going to have to get chromed. I'll be removing them from the cabinet this weekend! Doh!

Update!

Here's some pictures of the main bolts that were removed from the cabinet. You can see the suffered from massive surface rust where the cabinet was in a cold warehouse for so long..

Check out the same bolts, blasted and then repainted to mintyness!

I still need to decide what to do with the apron - I know I don't want the normal black one - will have a think on it over the coming week.

My current thoughts is to strip it and buff it. So its like the planes from the films that fly over the maps. Might even look into riveting it.

Update!

So I picked up my back box hinges yesterday at lunch. The funny thing was is when I went there I realised it's where my Dad worked when I was a nipper - loads of forgotten memories came flooding back of being there after school or at the weekends. Was a really nice moment and I kind of felt this was the right place to get them restored and polished up! When my Dad worked there they made wiring looms so it was effectively a new company, different owners and doing something else, but nice all the same

Anyhow before pix:

This was as I got them - so they have a few stick finger marks on - but the finish is absolutely awesome!

I also put in an order of some extra bits I may need at Pinball Life.

So who remembers this playfield?

It was pretty badly abused. Nearly all the metal work had corroded and it was missing a ton of stuff!

Well.............

It is 99% complete!

I have to fit 2 of the 3 pop bumper caps, ran out of screws so I have new ones on order. I actually have NOS caps to fit, infact the one you can see is a NOS one already fitted.

The actual flipper bats need to be fitted but I have original NOS white Williams ones to fit and the apron need to be fitted along with the ball trough with new opto boards that I have.

The apron hasn't been fitted as I am not happy with it (look at the state of it in the above pix) so it will be shot blasted and then i'll be doing something with it - not decided as of yet. I also have NOS apron stickers at the ready to fit.
