Just wondered why this pot in my Mushi-King cab (Sanwa 14" monitor) isn't like the other more standard pots? It looks vastly different. I can only assume it is some kind of wire would pot?

Whatever the reason, it seems to be cheesed :-( I thought I'd worked out what the issue was - the knob on the end was spinning freely. I've used a bit of hotglue to fix it back to the threaded part and it no longer continuously turns. However, it still doesn't alter the H-Pos.

I can only assume that the threaded core has snapped part way down the white shroud? I'd like to try and replace it but can't even find anything remotely similar.

does the bit sticking out the back turn when you twist the knob?
may be able to put the lot out and fashion something to poke in and turn

Yep the bit out the back turns. Previously, the knob pulled a good 1/2 inch out before I glued it back to the threaded shaft.

you glued the shaft too far back, the ferrite core is not even touching the coil

Ah, I figured you'd probably know!

I wasn't sure how far down the threaded part (which I guess is the ferrite core) extended. I'll take the chassis out and have a go and glueing further down.

Any ideas why this pot is so different from the rest?

no need to remove the chassis-just remove the core using the shaft-then re-glue the shaft so that the smaller end is butt up against the back of the core

its not a pot-it's a coil
