Recently purchased a faulty booty of wbml pcb from a member, nice chap and gave me a good price.
I was told it used to work but developed a fault where the game keeps resetting, anyway here's it on bench.
Before powering on i went and inspected the pcb which I noticed it had a open track (circled in red) and 2xred wires soldered on top to bottom on the ground pads?the open track Leeds to the +spk pad and was repaired with a link wire.
I removed this mess and made it tidy.
Looking over the pcb every thing looked ok and no sign of trace damage. Ok now I powered on and surely it was faulty as described with random resetting. I did a romident on all the roms and roms 4,5,6 were not recognised so I burned new eproms 4,5,6 with the correct rom files.
Powered on but fault remains, next I looked at the work ram which sits under rom 7 which checked out ok.I was now at point on where to look next so I turned my attention on four pal chips which I think is used for tile gfx generation ,I scoped all pal outputs until I came across pal(ic32) and one output at pin 12 looked odd on my scope so I decided to get the jed file from arcade pld and burned it on a gal16v8.
Powered on and.........
