Any one else have an issue with this particular addiction ?

I raid 25 man 4 nights a week on Eonar with the DMZ on my Shadow Priest, and we managed to get Deathwing down last night for the first time. Rather disappointed with how quickly this has happened, and it certainly feels less of a challenge than any end boss to date in the game.

The only issue I've got is that I've got to 85 without properly doing any dungeons. All the ones I've done I've solo'd. That gives me the problem that near gear is too low and i don't know what I'm doing to not piss people off in the higher level instances. Everyone takes it all oh so seriously that you daren't screw up!

So i need to find people interested in going through all the BC, Wrath and Cata instances, SLOWLY (so I can take in the content and enjoy it) and in a way that i can learn from. That's not easy to find.

Regarding the game itself, I just recently signed up for another year

I'm almost entirely on Mazrigos.

The problem with wanting to explore all the old game content is that the latest model of the game is all about being all things to all people, and allowing a maximum of gear for the minimum of effort.

During Vanilla WoW (the original incarnation), it could take as much as 3 hours to do a complete clear of Blackrock Depths (lvl 55 instance back then). In a way it was a really tough training environment to prepare you for the end game of 40 man raids at that time.

But you NEED to explore all the old content if you want the achievements - which I do

Got all the exploring achievements for all the zones, new and old and so far got all the dungeon achievements for the 'Classic' content, so obviously I need to do the dungeon achievements for BC and Wrath and by then I figured I may be up to tackling Cata.

I have the free starter version, but doubt I will be of much use to anyone as I have no idea what's going on half the time

i played for four years and was a endgame raider on and off, up to the death of lich king. glad i left tbh its dumbed down to f**k and full of idiot children these days.

must admit, the average player age is a bit of an issue these days, especially in the guild I'm in. I don't have a problem with the dumbing down though. At least I understand it now - more or less.

Kinda. You'd be surprised how much lore and geography follows over from the Warcraft series. The whole of WoW is based on the same world. Obviously there's more to it than that, but what I'm saying is there's a massive tie over. Thrall for instance is still a main character for the Horde in WoW.

I can't believe with such a massive user base that we have, and that WoW have there are only three people that are actively playing - or will admit to it at least.
