I’d have to say the Konami belt scrollers. TMNT, Simpsons, X-Men etc. terrible games compared to the Capcom releases of the same time frame.

The only Konami belt scroller I actually like is Violent Storm.

Wise words indeed.

Violent Storm is an absolute banger, I think by 95 Konami combined what they had learned from their licensed games, titles like Metamorphic Force or Vendetta and rolled it into one of the best examples of the genre. Violent Storm is one of my favourites - like C&D's it has a strangley upbeat post-apocalyptic setting and has the same fast paced gameplay.

One of the games i'd love to pick up.

I didn’t think much of Turtles in Time. More of the same, no memories of it as a kid, crap theme tune. I got a faulty boardset, fixed it and flogged it, which is rare for me.

Always classed Violent Storm as a spiritual Crime Fighters 3 when i was a kid, Probably because it was Konami. Great game. I always enjoyed Crine Fighters 1 as well but it was a finger crippler. I liked how the gun never ran out provided you didn't get hit.

On that topic:
1) I agree. I've sometimes even thought mid-credit, 'I can't be arsed to keep going '. The fun 'spark' is totally missing. Even Terminator Salvation felt more like mowing a lawn than anything satisfying.
2) I've never seen the Raw Thrills Turtles game. Sadly I suspect that's because buttons+sticks games just aren't what sells in modern arcades anymore.
john bennett...HAHAHAHHA!! mowing a lawn..nice!

I am not too keen on the million variants of Streetfighter, Tekken I find to be far superior, Virtua Fighter is not bad, not overly fond of racing games, the best of which when I played was TX-1, not too keen on Hang-on or Outrun. The best kind of racing games/shooting are Roadblasters and Spy hunter.

Defender, Stargate and Sinistar are cool but hard as hell, Robotron, Juno First and Tempest had me mesmerised. Found House of the Dead games quite boring, I think if you beat these, there is absolutely no incentive to play them again, not fond of on-rail shooting games. There have been quite a few games where I have died not knowing what I was supposed to do, which I hate.

I think there are three types of gamers, Arcaders, home console people and people like myself who love both!

The DC version of HotD 2 was great with lots of replay value with different paths and bonuses, characters etc.

It has the best (worst) voice acting in any video game too. “Don’t come!”

Mr. Do! Has the perfect blend of skill and reactions.

The rules are fairly simple, but that allows you to manipulate the levels and vary your tactics on the fly. I struggle above lv 20 these days.

I do regret selling my cabinet, it was a beauty.

i've never played it at length, its just really really bad IMO, Mr Do is fantastic though, i dont think they are the same type of game at all
You two can skip hand and hand into the bowels of hell saying DigDug is rubbish, DigDug is a classic :ROFLMAO:

Mr Do is better though to be fair but considering it was allegedly based on DigDug it should be and the baddies in Mr Do make no sense what are they supposed to be at least in DigDug you know who you are popping.

Worst game I owned is probably cliff hanger, laser discs games were hard work but CH was impossible.

Never even seen Mr Do, so can't comment on it, agree you with laser disc games, although I initially liked Dragon's Lair and Space Ace, they ate money like nobody's business, they were really interactive movies, Galaxy Ranger was dire though.
