Has anyone got one of these programmers? I just picked one up without the power supply. I need to know the voltage, amps and center pin polarity for this. Thanks.

Didn't notice this in Arcade at first.

It's 99% likely to have a centre positive conductor if it's a barrel socket connector. No point sticking power on the outside where it can short :) But you can always open it up to be sure.

The manufacturer's site says it's 12VDC https://www.xeltek.com/pages.php?pageid=255

And the device won't draw more current than it needs, so I reckon you could burn the oldest power hungry NMOS EPROMs with a 12VDC@1A PSU.

Thanks. I got the required info from Macro. It's 12V, 2A, center pin negative. Yes, for some reason, they used a center negative supply! Programmer is now working

center pin negative polarity makes me remember BOSS music effect pedal WALLWART PSUs !
they were 9V and opposite polarity form the rest of the world!

BTW positive sleeve doesn't "short" anyway... the important thing is not shorting it with the inside receptacle.
