A bit of unreleased retro goodness from 1991.
Back in the dim and distant past, I used to write dodgy budget games for the Spectrum and Amstrad. I put together a demo of Xenon 2 between projects, hoping it would be my break into the big time. Sadly not, as Mirrorsoft had no interest in going forward with 8-bit ports.
The demo was later updated to add the parallax scrolling seen in the 16-bit versions. I planned to send both the new and original versions to Your Sinclair in an effort to drum up interest in the project. By this time I was busy with proper, paid work and all plans were shelved.
I recently dusted off the code from the archives and put together a video showing both demos. Behold, in all their mostly-green glory:
Over 30 years old! Damn, that makes me feel old.
I have a few other interesting odds and ends from "back in the day". Eventually I'll get around to uploading some images for people to play with in emulation.
