So this is Sid, we got him last night because the house he was in couldnt handle him and at 12 weeks he is a bit of a menace.....
But being a bit of a collector, he is now dog number 7 in my house, they are all under 6 years old so they have a proper order and know how to behave(kind of, 4 of them are Beagles). But yeah, busy house.

Ah bless , I did the something similar. I went to look at a labby pup and after seeing the state they were in I said I would take them both (2 left out of litter) !!!! Both had kennel cough , the runs (Well just water) took me weeks of rice and chicken to get them anything close. They have both had issues throughout there life and cost us a load of money , Money of which i could not care less about I would do owt for them. We have spend 1000's on our pets , One of our cats hod shot 2 1/2 grand. We paid it no chance I was having her put down. Just a kitten. Wish i could find who did it !!!

That was 10 years ago , Sadly we lost one 12 months ago and the other is now struggling.

Dave.

P.S It does annoy me though when folk have pets and cant handle them ! Try harder !!

it sickens me to see when people are "begging" for donations to get their pet better or fixed, dont have a fucking pet if you cant look after it

x4 Beagles? Jesus they will hump anything and everything. How's your leg?
We've a Pointer / beagle that's castrated and he still ( rarely ) humps one of his toys! Funny though.
My exes Sister had a Beagle and the exes Labradoodle effort used to copy the humping motion. Pissed myself laughing every time as it embarrassed the ex so much.

Beagles have nothing on Lurchers!
We have a couple of rescues - Woody is a good boy, but a very bad dog! His main failing is that he is totally focussed on food and will steal anything, but he is incredibly friendly to other dogs and really loving, but he won't let anyone he doesn't know into his house, he is very territorial. His is, however, made of stone - he ran into me at full tilt a few years back - he hardly flinched but my knee snapped in half and I was bed-ridden for 3 months and now have a ten inch metal plate holding my left leg together...

And this is Willow - incredibly sweet, faster than light, but with a prey-drive that means the slightest hint of a cat or squirrel she is up on her hind legs screaming like a banshee. She also hates most other dogs, but really REALLY hates other lurchers of greyhounds, if she smells one from hundreds of yards away, which she does regularly, all she want to do is get to them - a real pain when walking. She too is pretty territorial at home but loves me like there is no tomorrow.IMG_2361.jpeg

I agree 100% with the post above that says if you can't afford to look after your dog don't get one, ours have cost a lot of money over the 6 years we have had them - for instance Willow impaled herself on a stick which went pretty much all the way through her chest, she has also had a stick through her throat, chipped her jawbone, loads of other injuries, but we never quibbled about the cost, although most was covered by insurance. Unfortunately, as happens so often, the cost of insurance is now too high to warrant paying, so we have just pout £10,000 in an account and that is the doggos medical fund - if we need more then so be it but could never let anything happen to them because we either couldn't afford it or just didn't want to spend the money.

I love my dogs, they really do mean everything to me!

My Boys .....

Roddy.jpg

Rest in Piece Roddy. Roddy had Cancer and we tried to save him but he went down hill fast and could not get up , We had no choice. 3 Months later DellBoy got cancer and we spend nearly a grand on him having the lump removed. He is ok now as far as cancer goes but is getting old and struggling with his hips (Common in labs).

Here is his leg and then one of him in the ' Cone Of Shame' he was not amused !

Bad.jpg
cone of shame.png

Originally we had 2 dogs :- Rodney & DellBoy 2 Cats :- Cassandra & Raquel. Added to that and had 5 cats, My wife treats them better than me , If it starts raining she spends hours shouting them in. Wont go to bed untill they are in, Nuts.

Bella.jpg

We lost Bella the other month , He was only 6. Yes I said he , when we had him my Daughter thought it was a girl so called her bella , Then realised is was a boy and could not change the name so I we kept the name and I call him BellEnd ! lol

Misty.jpg

This is Misty , He is a big cat. Cost me £1800 when he got hit by a car (At Last we think). He head buts you & bites your finger when you stroke him (Affectionately though)

Raq.jpg

This is my baby girl Raquel, She lived in our bedroom. She had cancer and we did everything we could costing just over £1000 for an operation to remove the Cancer. I told them I did not want her to suffer but she did. She came back and was riddled with it withing 6 weeks and died in my arms. It broke more than my heart. I am still angry the vets let that happen. I took her to vets 3 days before.

Ava.jpg

This is Ava !!! A ginger muppet that only allows you to love her on her terms Normally when she is tired ! lol. She has cost me nothing in vets bills but £600 for a carpet after someone left her in the bedroom and she decided she was getting out no matter what ! lol.

Cass.jpg

And finally this is Cassy , The cat some arse hole shot when she was a kitten and smashed her leg to pieces. We were advised to have her put to sleep but we were having none of it. Apart from her leg there was nothing wrong with her. It cost around £2700 ish to fix her , You would have no idea it even happened. They made a great job of her. Spend 6 months with a metal thing on her leg and in a cage.

The moral of the story (As mention above) DO NOT have pets unless you are willing to spend money on them !

Sorry that was longer than & probably more boring than expected :)

Dave.
