I'd like to see one working for my purposes. I feel like the scaling would disappoint me.

I bought two LCD monitors recently for my 800x600 PGA Golf. One looked good other was bad even though both should've done a good job as both were 1200px height.

I think it was the one that was not 4:3

Guess it all depends on what res you're scaling.

Unico is now shipping these to UK addresses. Just over £300 with postage. Seems they are currently finishing off an update that corrects the issues some people were having, so would be worth holding off. But in the next 6 months I can see me having one as it's a great back-up in my opinion .

Any links to the info on updates?

Is it a driver issue where existing units can be rectified?

Somewhere in the comments (I think on that post) it mentions an update that is currently being tested.
This is really promising. I have one of the first run, and to be honest i've not noticed any of these problems on it but i'm not hawk eyed or playing at God level on games with twitch reflexes!

That being said, it would be nice to be able to update it to do what it was always supposed to be doing.

there should be some cheap surplus 4:3 lcd's on the market soon,
i was in a pub the other day and some of the newer fruit machines are using twin 4:3 lcd's on them - we know stuff only lasts a few years before it often gets stripped and ebay'd

Most of the older ones are 19" still an very usable size and better than wide screen ones. I got 2 frameless 19" but still nowhere neare pitting one in my cabs.

I'm putting 16:10 IPS ones in my Sega PC Based Driving cabs, even if it's in 4:3 mode this screen is only about 1/2" smaller than the CRT's the height isn't much less and will look great on later widescreen games in full screen like Outrun 2 in 30"

I got a monitor with the PC I gave my nephew and thought this looks big even though it was only 24" it looked so much bigger than my 23" I'm using and found out it's 16:10 HP so it's got that extra height and just looks so much better

I really didn't want to replace CRT with LCD in mine but testing out the driving games anything Sega Rally/Daytona onwards looks okay, really it's just the 80's ones and there aren't that many anyway and most of the good ones I got originals so it just makes sense so you can play later PC based arcade ones also and all the PC driving games like Need For Speed series
