Had a good afternoon yesterday with Jason the owner, his staff and Will (t-m).

Here's the situation with the cabs so far:

Centipede = Still needs an AR2, I might grab one from forcefulfil if he still has any going.

Xevious = Working, Monitor has some black / tearing at top but otherwise okay. Perhaps re-capping the chassis will help?

Alien Syndrome = Boards confirmed as working properly! Old monitor and marquee light fixture taken out, Jason is looking to fabricate a new wooden frame for a replacement monitor he has to be used. t-m was converting it to 240 volts when I left.
Here's the dimensions of the control panel: Width (visible area) = 23.5", Height = 15.5" + 3" folded over at the bottom. The "hole" for the plexi is: Width = 12.5", Height 3"

Space Invaders = t-m tried to get the boards working, they were for a while but have now stopped working altogether.

Gorf = No change, when we tested it last time correct voltages were coming from the power supply, but game wasn't working so probably faulty boards.

Tempest = Powers up, spot killer comes on, nothing else happens for a while then a constant "beeeep" is heard.

Asteroids Upright = Monitor was swapped with the cocktail and doesn't work. Not sure if this boardset is working properly.

Lordsvale MVS = Fully working but monitor is quite dark & contastly, occasionally changes from a redder to a greener hue.

Looking forward to next Month and the event itself, hope to see some of you there!

OK, so is there a proper workbench area? If you've got boards need looking at then there is no point trying to hang out of the back of cabs. Proper repairs are impossible like that. I'm going to see what I can arrange this time. It's 4+ hrs for me but if I can tie it in with work then that will at least cover my mileage.

Yeah there's loads of space, Jason has a bunch of tools, scope, soldering irons etc.
It has a separate classroom area with desks / chairs, it's a perfect venue for this kind of event.

Had a bit of a late one on Saturday with Jason and managed to get the new monitor/tv mounted in the Alien Syndrome. It fired up but there was a a sync issue, we stared at it for a while hoping some sort of magic would happen but it was getting late so we left it. Something for you guys to look at

The cab wiring is nearly complete, I might get a chance before the 15th to finish it off.

It does need a new marquee lamp unit, it did have a twin tube one (has hole in the top of the cab to light the topper as well).

Let us know what test/kit etc. and if Martin Guddler can come up.
-Martin has more portable kit than me.

Also, we should try and divide the tasks up before we arrive if poss.
-I could take on the SI if you like.
-BTW, what boardset type is it:-
3-layer, 2 layer, L-type?

Cheers,
David.

The SI is L type boardset. There is a set in it that's an unknown and there was a spare set that I replaced some shorted caps on which let it start to boot but it would crash and reset, shortly afterwards something else went on it and it wouldn't even get that far

The upright asteroids is a huge challenge, the board is faulty and as is the monitor. The museum also has a cocktail asteroids with a board fault.

thought the boards had a collision detection problem but turned out to be t-m's supergun

It's a good 2-player game that one, be great to get it up & running.
