All I saw from the vid is you have the pc turned on. How about the actual cab? Are you using a stepdown for it?
Have you checked both power switches? There's one on the back and one on the arcade power supply

astro is 15khz only ms8
New astro is 15/24 khz ms9

if screen doesn't become a signal it stays of/ black screen

behind the screen the plate normally has 2 simple screws in it phillips 2

monitor should get 110v input ( power supply ) these is a Main fuse on the original power supply in front of it, were the red push buttons are

on your monitor chassis you also have a fuse, this one sometimes blow, check that also

cheers mike

I think someone needs to go round to sort this, this type of cab is a lot harder to diagnose than a generic jamma cab

too many wires inside and as the op said he is not technical, so all these questions will just go over his head

too much getting bogged down by the pc and video signals.

the owner said the monitor doesn't come on, rather than it comes on but no picture.

we need to get the cab/ monitor to power up. we need to start on the mains plug and work our way to the power supply unit, and then the cabling to power the monitor etc.

Yeah someone help please coz Im about to go send it to andy at arcade club which means delivery costs etc. Could just pay someone local to nip round and sort it. Dont forget youd be helping a youtuber with 170,000 subs so when I make a vid on this all the help gets shouted out! :)

I'm not familiar with Astro City cabs, but two questions spring up from the original for sale advert. Where is the stepdown transformer? Can you physically see it?

And secondly it looks like the cabinet was sold in December last year. I find it odd that there's a technical question be asked about it 9 months later. Has it ever worked?

Gamez might have got it then. But this guy only got it from him recently.

Yeah its this giant box that the japanese plug goes in? I tried it earlier tonight in another step down (that came with the egret 3 I bought) and the monitor came on but the screen was this below. I tried the twohuman pc that works in the egret on it but just got a few flicky lines

ok heres what I think is going on now with this thing. I think the step down it came with aint working and neither is the pc. I have no pcb to test it on yet and the pc in my other cab is a 2huwman mame pc that works from the jamma using its own jpac. The astro cab seems to have its monitor hooked up to its own jpac so that means I cant test the 2huwman mame pc as it has its own jpac?

That sound right to anyone?

I'm from Hazel Grove which is about 30 minutes from Manchester, you still haven't said exactly where you are?

it sounds like you've maybe got a couple of issues, maybe monitor not wired up correctly and also a pc issue? I probably won't be able to fix the pc issue because I don't work on pc's

If Andy at arcade club has said you can take it to him so he can have a look then I recommend doing that

Yep that sounds right. Bad stepdown and bad pc. The split screen is where it can't display the resolution, and when mame can't load it won't be forced to low resolution mode so the display never looks right.

The split screen is the j-pac splitting the 31khz PC signal for the 15khz monitor. It looks like the monitor is ok to me. Crucially, the PC doesn't appear to have a suitable video card needed to produce 15khz signal (you're plugged into the onboard video). The monitor in your Egret is probably try-sync and can display 31khz.
Get a regular jamma board and it'll likely work no prob. Then check out groovymame and crt emudrivers to get the PC running on the Astro. Like I say though, Looks like you need a video card added to that kit.
