  It was all the excitement!

Sorry mate, I didn't want to mention it.. But it just slipped out! Hoho!

Nice pics Gary, seeing the forklift at full height with a massive cab on it is just mental. It took me a good 3 hours to sort my car out so I'm not surprised you've not managed it yet!

Yea I'm looking forward to tomorrow afternoon- got half day so I'll be able to enjoy the moment. Probably have a few surprises too as I can't remember what the hell I got now!

I've taken my Chihiro apart. I'm now cleaning inside the case
smiley36.gif

Should clean up nice! The fan was filthy!

I need to do the same with the car! Some seriously dusty stuff in there and it stinks!

With the Chihiro, if the fan still works and the big caps near the heat sink are not leaking you're half way there!

A cracking load of bargain cabs, superb work by the ukvac team

Olly, your Outrun 2 special super duper deluxe cab is amazing, must be the only one in the country to be in collectors hands, Martin was saying you have cabs backing up, sounds like your new place has some great space for you to use

Replace them anyway, and remove the time keeping cap completely. Keep an eye on the GPU fan too, if it dies so does the Chihiro in no time at all.

Could you make a thread with pix showing what on each board is recommended to be changed?

Good shout, there isn't one place where all this info is available. There's pages showing the 3 (or 5) big caps, but not the time keeping cap. Would be good to put in links to replacement - quieter - fans too.

I have some links somewhere, so could dig them out to add to the thread..

Thanks to muddy for that one - I spotted it on the original raid thread, but hadn't seen it on the day until he pointed me in the direction of yet another floor - the fourth I think!

I need to go again - I keep remembering stuff I saw but forgot about, or didn't have the space for!

This is the first chance i've really had to post anything since Tuesday
smiley36.gif
(been stupidly busy past two days)!

It was a great day, I had quite a drive from where I was (about 160 miles, so i'd done over 300 by the time I got back), but it was very much worth it! Sorry, haven't got any pics! The 5 cabs I had were missing all the pcb sets, but a lot of the other stuff was there. I wish I had had the space and transport to take the cabs back as I reckon I could made 2 good ones from the 3 Battle Gear cabs as two had the steering mechs and control pcbs etc. but it was not to be. So all 5 got stripped as much as possible! I got one good complete monitor, one good tube (the other one was necked, shame as it was unburnt and pure flat). I had toppers, looms, pedals, shifters, handbrakes, marquees, speakers, steering mech with ffb motor (didn't have time to unbolt both!) I wish I could've taken at least one seat but didn't have enough time and I wouldn't have had the space in the car anyway!
smiley36.gif

Spares wise, as seen in the pics I picked up quite a few Hanty chassis, some Sanwa chassis, a WG Digital chassis or two, 2 or 3 pcb sets, a 52" LG DLP rear projection tv for House of the Dead 4 (trying to fix one for someone local, hopefully be able to fix it with parts from that one) another pure flat monitor and a tube. Should picked up both both pure flat monitors (there were a pair available) but that would've had to go on the roof I think! The 52" TV had to go in the back seat upside down, but it all went in in the end! Was a long day, left before 9am, didn't get back till gone 11pm!

Ah... The elusive single red side panel that I always see in someone's forum signature, it wasn't you was it?

I know its rude to ask, but what kind of ballpark figure did all those goodies set you back roughly? Was it a super deal?

Glad you got back okay Tony, the Mondeo was jam packed and the rear tyre did look like it needed some air!!

Hopefully you'll get those Sanwa chassis working (if they aren't already), and you'll be able to put one to good use with the tube I've got for you - if you've got any space left in your house that is!!
smiley36.gif

You didn't take any pics? To be fair there was loads to do. Hey, here's another pic for vib and just to prove you were there

Actually the red panel is nice, but not right so I'm still on the hunt! I need the darker red as found on Jap spec F355 2 cabs - to match the single lightbox plastics. I am such a pedantic bugger, but I'm not applying NOS artwork to the wrong panel!!
smiley23.gif

Regarding the deal - yes I'd would say it was definitely a 'super deal' for all of us

I've only just notice that booty outrun 2 seat art is the same shape as ID art. I knew you had to have that when I saw it! The bezel with the extra sticker was a nice find too, that's always missing from cabs.

I've spent more time this evening sorting through the stuff, I've got a couple of complete cab looms and a nice lot of Namco ffb and sound boards, and a few other decent bits.

The game boards I picked up were a Commando bootleg, GTI club, Hyper Olympic '84 and Rolling Thunder, the version on a 2 layer pcb.

A couple of things in your pile I wouldn't mind having.

Whats the deal with the F355 toppers/plastics?
Are those from a DX cab or from single sitdowns?

Thanks.

Just , wow!
Raid photos are always such a good read/look, but this one is just superb, I'm a bit of a fan of driving games, so the OR2's, ID's and F355's are just
smiley29.gif

As for the OR2 DLX , like most I'm sure, can't wait for the unveil pics :)

I'll have to console myself with having had 3 laps (as a passenger..) around Aintree last weekend in a 360 Spider (marshalling again for the Sporting Bears charirty event).

Superb haul for everyone , great pics.

They're from the triple screen deluxe cab mate - they will make nice decoration for the games room. They must have parted out at least two of these as there was loads of spares - plastics, side panel lightboxes etc..
