Just a small update

Not had much time to do this the last couple of days and whatever I do it's so slow and finding motivation is becoming difficult.

Finished the inside, base, top etc. The sides, front, etc are prepped ready to spray so the next job is to mask and go blue.

Stick with it Alfonso!
Can't Sponge Bob get some done for you? He's a lazy so-and-so!

Good luck with the blue!

Really coming along now. After all the hours and hours of prep, finally some paint going on which has got to feel good and lift the spirits.

I'm secretly dreading the prep/prime/paint part on my build as I don't want to cock it up.

Bring on the blue !!

Got to the cab this morning for a few hours,

Masked it again (total ball ache job) ready to spray the sides.

Offered the coin door up to make sure the bolt holes lined up as the original is totally knackered.

All good

New carpet 'acquired' for this job

Here we go again!!

Back door finished

Ready for next time, which could be a while, got a busy time coming up so not sure when I'll get to spray it??

The cabinet is sprayed.....

This is my best finish to date, really happy with how it turned out. The only let down being the last can failed and what is annoying is I didn't need to spray it again but had a spare can so thought I'd use it.....doing the last side the nozzle blocked and pumped out some sh*tty, bitty paint particles then lost it's pressure completely. It looks awesome, it just feels a bit rough in places, you wouldn't know unless you run your hand over it.

You decide -

This is the worst side

Perfect match

The top piece with the CP latches is the original formica

Cheers, Al

Al - stop being so nit-picky, looks fantastic to me, and Bob is still smiling.

I did not even know you could achieve those results with cans.Equites2015-09-04 10:05:13

It's just annoying Nad when you put so much time into prepping the cab.

I had a moan about it to the guys I got the paint from, the woman on the phone said ' yeah this happens from time to time '

They're going to reimburse me though, even though I got a free can....I'll bet that's the bast that failed!!

You'd be amazed what you can do with a can if you start using clear coats/cutting compounds and polish.

It looks beaut-o-licious! If Bob's happy and you're happy then we're happy too!

Looks like just a touch of factory orange peel but basically mega!
Job's a good un!

Made me chuckle! Not perfect but I honestly did my best, that's as good as it gets from what I'm capable of.

I meant no offense chap! Too highly polished (mopped, etc.) and it won't look factory!

There's no way for example either your Pac-Man or mine left the factory looking that highly polished, you know?
