My final Donkey Kong resto'

Hi guys, well considering this is my third and final donkey Kong restoration, I decided to share the progress on UKVAC. This will be the same as previous restorations, but this time there may be some polished chrome involved depending on how it pans out.

The cab was complete and 100% working on arrival.

The monitor was rebuilt in April 2014, I rebuilt this monitor at the same time as the Popeye monitor.

Cap kit + filter cap, HOT, Flyback Transformer, B+ adjustment pot, control board pots and the sound amp was completely rebuilt.

4 x primer

4 x top coat

It's expensive and Cellulose is not the easiest stuff to use from a can.......and it get's everywhere!!!!!

Matching the colour was the easy bit!! I'll never forget that day. I chucked the empty cab in the van and drove 10 miles to a paint shop back in either 07/08. Rolled DK in to into this huge, hot panel beating zone on a squeaky sack truck. There was a distinct smell of Cellulose, you could get high on the fumes in that place. There were roughly 8-9 guys, all turned around and there I was, with this crapped out wooden heap of sh1t. The f**kers all started laughing

It will be my last Nintendo resto sir. I have a feeling Alex may want a spray job done? I agree with you, you really can't beat a decent restoration. You did a great job on the championship sprint.

Just been going through my stash and it would appear I'm a better hoarder than expected.

Got everything to go other than the paint.

Marquee, Bexel, CPO, NOS Coin Door Facias, Side Art, 'True' Flat T-Molding, instruction & coin info.

Pretty sure the Kong Off Marquee will be going on this one.
