Personally speaking, too much power rangers sh*t. What's with all the sparks and neon confetti? I had the same complaint about Street Fighter V with all it's colgate toothpaste swirl effects on every special, and then SF6 went overkill with neon so this kind of thing really grates me personally. It has some good points, but that puts me off. Shaders and comic book visuals look nice. Tekken also takes it to the extreme so maybe everyone loves it and it's just me :D

Even though I like the new trailers I do totally agree about the over kill on the effects and yes I have noticed that in the latest Street Fighter's and Tekken as well.:(. If I'm gonna be honest I would prefered the visuals to be sprite based like The King of Fighters XIII but maybe I'm old fashioned?:ROFLMAO:

I was super excited until I saw the gameplay footage. I couldn’t see the characters half the time. I’m all for cool fx but I couldn’t make out what was going on.

I much prefer sprite graphics too but it's long since been unaffordable to create them in today's pipelines. But SF4's 3D character models I still really liked, and Tekken's too.

I don't think this Garou (again, personally speaking) matches the hallmarks of why people widespread still love Neo Geo Garou to this day and the art direction of SVC Chaos. The characters are too cartoony, much too girlie fighter imo, and with the emphasis on voice actors in these trailers it all feels very mid tier anime-fest to me.

I'm sure it'll play well and have a good audience, I think I've just fallen outside of that.

I've always liked Garou, so i'll play this for sure.

SNK introduced some good new characters in MOTW and never did much with them (apart frm guest spots in KOF). Not sure about the effects either, I couldn't follow the action but figured it was down to my advanced years.

I agree and in my opinion it feels as though the look of it is just copying what the new Street Fighter's look like and the way the character's use there moves is also just like modern Street Fighter. I hope I'am wrong but after looking at the trailers again, it feels that SNK have no confidence in embracing there iconic 2D spirite work from the previous Garou and evolve it for a new era (just as KOF XIII did and showed that 2D spirite still had untapped future potential), and instead have gone the route of Capcom's Street Fighter 4 and successors after 3rd Strike, being flashy 3D anime insipired visuals and constant pyrotechnic moves, which in my opinion does a disservice to what made Mark of The Wolves amazing. I hope its good but for me I don't know and I can see why SNK have gone down this route as they want as much mass appeal as possible. I will give it a go though when it releases as I do love Garou

I have had a huge problem with recent fighting games and playing online, especially just in trying to have a bit of fun.

I don't do all that 'combo bullshit' (my loving words) or frame timing blah ... I just like to mash quarter circles and spam the buttons on my pad.
It would appear that people like me are not allowed to play online, or must 'git gud' to be able to 'enjoy' it.

I don't really understand what happened to playing these games with mates, and a few beers, and whatnot. Sigh ...

😅

Aaaaaaaaanyway ... I splurge all that on the wall so that I can say that I absolutely adore playing G:MOTW, happily own a copy, and am hoping beyond hope that playing this online is not the same experience as playing KOF XV (or is it XIV, I forget, whatever the latest is) where even the lowest of the low is on there doing 57 billion hit combos and removing literally any fun.

Also, here's the SNK Videos:

Also, on the gameplay, I think I'm slightly opposed to this POV:
I was super excited until I saw the gameplay footage. I couldn’t see the characters half the time. I’m all for cool fx but I couldn’t make out what was going on.
As ... for *once* it seems like everything isn't zoomed in up their anus with sprites as big as the screen.

I really do prefer to have the majority of the arena visible, with smaller sprites.

These still could be a *little* smaller for me ... but ... yeah ... it's a lot better than the ugh of the latest SF/KOF.

As for online gameplay, create a private lobby and play with known like-minded people. I'm only here to have fun, I main Q on SF3 😃

Completely different game but recent PES online use to be a joy when it's not win at all costs, many a great night with players that played well and winning isn't as important as having fun and not exploiting the game.

I like the look /aesthetic, looking at the footage, looks decent. Was scratching my head when I got SF6 for my nephews and couldn't even work out how to play couch versus to begin with !!

Definitely with you, there, @CMYKhazi-Dan, unfortunately it's less easy in SNK to be so open as to make that kind of lobby clear.
Plus I don't touch that gaming forums place (forget the name) ... so I can't corral folks ... but ... yeah ... 100%.

Also ... another shame ...

... I checked out some of Justin Wong's play time on it last night ... and ... sadly it's as zoomed in as every other mf'ing modern fighter out there.

I did see this, what the hell is Ronaldo's connection with MOTW / SNK?

Also I have no idea who the other guy is, I thought he was a new character :)
Hi mate, basically SNK is now owned by Saudi Arabian MiSK Foundation since 2022 ,which is owned by Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, ruler of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is a personal friend of Ronaldo, who in turn plays for Al-Nassr Football Club in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The other charcter is based on Salvatore Ganaci a DJ and record producer.

Ah very interesting, but also kind of crap. I guess MK has had plenty of seemingly nonsensical crossovers with Terminator, Rambo, Robocop, T-1000, Predator etc.

I'm not a football fan, so perhaps this makes less sense to me..

I wouldn't really have given a s**t about these two characters if they had been paid dlc because it is then optional, however to have them as main roster charcters when you could have had two new charcters, created for the 'Garou universe' is really crap and short changing the fans IMO.

Yeah, nicely put. Would there be much of a crossover between Ronaldo fans and a 26 year old fighting game?

Doesn't track that it would drive people to buy MOTW2, so it seems SNK were paid to include him.. it's beyond stupid really.
