but yes its had an Atari ARIII installed as some point, a standard switcher and a birds nest of cables.

Surely this wouldn't have come out the factory like that?

It looks like a lot of "just keep it going" work has happened over the years. As it stands, there's far too much electricity in there for me to feel comfortable with just poking around right now. Need to unpick this one carefully...

Atari built some Sega machines (and Namco and Exidy) at the Atari Ireland factory.

That's why some Sega Outruns have the Atari audio amp etc. I would imagine the plate on this machine says 'Sega UK' or something similar.

The ARIII, the very familiar Atari plastic shroud covering the power switch, the wooden pull back handle on the back of the cab and the power brick are all Atari.

can always tell by the audio amp in the cabs, if it's sega amps then it's sega built, atari amp/reg board it was built at Atari

Unless the wiring has been hacked and you would tell then

The shape of your cab looks identical to my Scud Race upright ! Only the pedals and dash look different

I think there was a Daytona or maybe a Scud cab on ebay recently that looked like this shape cab too.

The switcher in this cab is made by Deith Leisure along with the manual, The picture of the gear shift in one diagram is the same as Sega cabs not like this Midway game.

I think someone mentioned the Outrunners from this raid was a Deith Leisur cab as well, I take it there were a distributor for Sega then?

I've got the same Cruisin World cab which has been mamed and has that Sega sticker on it too - interesting about Scud Race as that is on my list to get running in there assuming the PC is powerful enough:)

It is defo the same cab profile, see below. I need one of those seats, anyone see one on there raid? It will make the cab better to play as the pedals are quite high sitting on the plinth when playing it as an 'Upright'.

yeah, it is: the artwork is missing on the other side, but that side is minty-fresh .. hence the doorframe being sacrificed to prevent it scraping on the way in!

it actually fell on me when we were pulling up the path as well - thought I was a gonner!

At last I've got a couple of pics of the Lordsvale from the raid, thanks again Alpha1 for organising it!

Cab is in great condition, has a lovely monitor and CP. The 6 slot had a fault but I had a spare 4 slot so no problem there, and I've just swapped the buttons out and made a small repair to the wood under the CP where a small section was gauged out.
