I know they are hard to find and would of like to see the machine finished.

Would of had a go making something for the machine if I was keeping it and I don't think those originals really suit it brilliant as the marquee isn't the same width so the sides are thicker

Thught it would look better if they matched more the original sides but just more like an extension of it.

Already got to make a mould for the Elephant machines as I only have one chute top and need another so had to get the tools out, glue some wood together and make one from wood to get plastic blown

so though i'd still have a crack at some sides for a light box and see what I could do, won't be perfect and it would be easier if you could make one to do both sides, but you cant, so I had a bit of a play today with some wood. I think the shape looks better

Once you've got the perspex sorted I can get you a set of art to try on it.

Edit: You've already got the perspex piece it's on your pictures duh

looks cool!

I`d like one for my Indy 500! :)

but saying that, it currently has a left hand yellow side panel with no sticker, and a white right hand panel with an Initial D sticker.

Both fit ok, but are very slightly different.

But saying that the whole machine only cost about £220 to build :)

Well it just started out as a "lets see what I could do" with the side panels

After that went well and only because I already had some other plastic to be formed, I carried out. Found a great local place that specialise in one of jobs, can see be being a regular getting metal work done. They cut and folded 2mm sheet steel to make the base and back cover

Took it to the powder coaters and got the Pop stand done at same time and it's now together and on the machine

Enclosure looks like an original - did you supply drawings or just give them a few measurements? Very neat with the side plastics which look a good match on colour to the main panels. Nice freshly coated brackets too.. I've got to get a set done too.

I spent some time installing a UK light/ballast to my Jap style initialD lightbox yesterday. Looks great next to the Jap style OutRun2 setup

The wood sides I'd cut to the shape, so took them along and he made the back cover to the shape of the sides.

If you had more pictures of originals, you could get them made the same, then just do your own side panels.

If you had Gary's skills with CAD and originals, it would be really easy to get them made up. But this does the job. When I start things I never imagine them to end up looking quite so good, I think it will be ok, but with the metal being done with the right tools it's so easy

I said to him about other stuff I have to work on, just a couple of things I thought of

The Dragon's lair machine has a butchered control panel, 2 joystics fitted and more buttons, so that needs welding up or a new one making, so thats one job for them

Then the Sega Rally 2 Handbrakes, I want to change them so I can fit on the left side and not the original right, so might have to get new covers made with cut out on opposite side, so it's nice to have a place about a mile from my house to do these bits I can't do
