Outrun 2 Single Lightbox Side Moulding

Looks fantastic, came out really well.
I'd been considering doing something similar using fibreglass. I was only considering fibreglass as I wasnt sure how rigid the side panels would be vacuum formed. What kind of thickness of plastic did you manage to get formed?
Out of interest, how did you attach the plastics to the rest of the metalwork - couldn't see any fixings in the pictures (which looks great).

To be honest, I hadn't really got time to do this one, but really wanted to see it finished off as I had the Marquee plastic which came from deano, and the Pop Stand from Joel, cheers guys
I did do some work with Fibreglass myself recently and made me think, could use this to make some sides. I have a Pirate figure Mills one arm bandit with a damaged foot to fibre glass, it's really easy to do, then you put some stuff over the top of it to give it that smooth finish.
I had the Elephant vending machine to finish off also, it's got a vac formed plastic top for the chute, so I got some MDF and made up a mould for that, which then made me think about making moulds for this at same time and getting the plastic formed, as I was already going there with other bits
Turned out good, so then cut out new sides for the plastic to fit on, i've not screwed them on yet, but like you say, it looks good without screws in, so I may just use glue gun and fix in place, can be removed if needed too, either that or some black screws.
I think original has metal frame, but I've cut more wood and shaped to the Marquee, some foam around it for the marquee to sit on the wood. glued it to the sides that hold the plastic.
The metal base and rear cover is fixed to the wood sides and then then another bit with all the light fittings across so it's held together really well
It's about 1mm thick the plastic, not as thick as original but it's strong enough
I was sorting my extension, which has been on hold for ages now, I had this machine which I turned into Outrun2 SP, but I decided to add another Driving sim and make it look like OutRun2 SP instead, so this took time, also been restoring the Electrocoin Crossbow.
I managed to get myself a Operation Thunderbolt and Op Wolf mini, so I had those both in here too, then got the Op Thunderbolt Mini as a swap for the full size. So I spent alot of time rebuilding the Wiring Loom in that and refitting original hardware to replace the PC that was in there and the Full size to a good home.
Then buying the Popeye arm wrestler
And for the next project, not arcade related. I've just got an engine to fit in my HR-V, never done that before so that should be fun, but will take alot of my time again.
Really need to get this extension done so I can get the uprights in there and start enjoying some machines again.
Get some good pics of original lightbox, take some measurements to a local metal fabricators and they'll knock up that side of it, then get some sides made, it's pretty simple really, amazing what you can do with alittle help from people with the equipment required
