Thanks for the recollections everyone. The only raids I can think of involved old computing gear. By the time I got into Vidz during the late 90s, the early 80s stuff I really liked was mostly either scrapped or in the hands of enthusiasts. I do remember seeing a long line of dumped machines round the back of Southport pleasure beach as I was driven past on a family outing as a kid. At least one star wars machine caught my eye then and I still remember it now. I can also remember persuading my uncle to ask a couple of arcade Ops in Southport if they had any scrap electronics and managed to get a few boards that way. Mind you, this would have been 1984 - 1985 and I was 11 or something, so I just played with the stuff instead of doing something useful with it whilst watching BBC Micro Live or the Computer Programme! gridrunner2011-11-22 17:28:24
