*** REVIVAL RETURNS! ***
The best dedicated retro gaming event returns, with 'REVIVAL Winter Warmer 2015' on the weekend of 28-29 November at Brookfields Leisure Centre, Wolverhampton!
Many had been waiting on and asking for their next Revival fix and after some careful consideration and the recent departure of one of our organisers, we have decided it best not to hold a huge event this Summer - the time window to organise was just too small to allow for it this year. With the popularity of our previous events though and mounting support from previous visitors, we are instead holding a much larger version of our popular 'Mini' event format this Winter at a new venue in Wolverhampton, with direct access to the motorway for all you coming from further afield! This year's event is still in the early planning stages, but features already include:
- Over 50 playable retro consoles and computers
- Over 30 video arcade machines and 6-8 pinball machines (unique for a smaller event)
- On-stage competitions and prizes
- Select traders offering various retro collectables
- Reasonably priced, fully licensed bar and hot food available
- New venue for up to 300 visitors per day, right by M6 J11 and with over 100 free parking spaces
The announcement will go up on our Facebook page HERE and tickets will go on sale at our website www.revivalretroevents.co.uk shortly after, once it has been updated and moved to a new host. Tickets will be priced at £10 per day/£18 for a weekend for adults, and £5 per day/£8 for a weekend for children 12 or under.
Several UKVAC members have messaged me regarding cabinet pledges for any possible future events we do and I'm pleased to know the support is there after you guys first started doing big shows for us when we started out
. It's worth mentioning now that this event is hopefully a precursor to returning again in Summer next year with another grand event, so that means as long as this one goes well we will have bigger scope to return in full scale, with a much bigger arcade and pinball presence. As there is a lot to co-ordinate for this event and plans for bigger events take up to a full year, I have recruited Dave (aka OTTOTHEMADANDEVIL) as our arcade co-ordinator. Our space at this years event is limited and we already have a good selection of both vids and pins coming for the space we have, but he will be on the lookout and hunting for the right additional contributions for this year, taking names for possible donation next year, and seeking assisting hands to move a machine or two on the event weekends, as well as arranging the logistics. I will be forwarding the messages from you guys to him so he will likely give you a shout in the coming weeks! In the meantime, if you'd like to make any pledges or get involved, please put it in replies on this thread!
