That's come around quick eh.. Hope to see a few of you around tomorrow to put a few more faces to names after my first few months in the scene.

I'll be the one with the ginger 7 year old trying to get back to the Minecraft zone even though she's secretly loving being one of the best arcade gamers in Year 3!

Will be there from opening for a few hours until we have to take the 4 year old for his flu spray - yeah nice time to start opening your GP surgery on a Saturday. Idiots.

Come say hi.

I'll be the Stormtrooper looking a bit of the "odd one out" walking around with Solaire from Darksouls (looks like a monty python Knight), The Hunter from bloodboard (player character) and a Skyrim Viking.

I'll be there tomorrow with my mate who seems to be getting the arcade bug.

Looking forward to it, but more keen to go to the revamped Arcade Club in the coming weeks once the move is complete.

There doesn't seem to be too much buzz about it this year on the forums? Any idea why?

I went to the Blackpool one a few months ago because I wanted to see the retro games traders but to be honest it was a bit rubbish I thought. Had far more joy at Retro Collect in Leeds for that kinda thing.

Got the arcade bug myself now but I'm not holding out massive hopes for this. Got a few guys to meet to pick up some stuff though which I am looking forward too :)

As the years have passed by it has become more and more commercialised. That is part of the reason that there is not so much forum hype.

Also most if the cabs are now sourced from one Arcade Club / RGP whereas in the past a lot of them came from either J+ or individual forum members.

Then there is the hotel cost. I really want to be in the same hotel as most other forum heads, but even if I were in the UK to attend, the £450 cost for 3 nights in the Trafford is too steep IMHO. In the past Dave did give a 24 hr heads up to the forums before the official announcent which allowed us to get a decent deal.

It is a great event, and one which I used to look forward to every year tho.

I'll be the one in the 'arcade staff' t-shirt who looks like he's been there for three days already, along with a few others.

I'm going Saturday afternoon and will be wearing one of your Aurebesh Star Wars Tee Shirts - say hello if you see me and I can thank you in person/storm trooper for it!

I've got to agree with Dave that the event has become too commercialised.

If I didn't live so close to the venue, I probably wouldn't be going, so I totally understand what some of you guys are saying.

My main reason for being there is to pickup and drop off some items for members. I may spend an hour or so in the arcade section, and play a couple of games, but I certainly won't be queuing up at 10am to get in, nor spending the whole day there.

Will probably bump into the usual suspects

Will be there wi' bells on!! (not actual bells ofc).

While I agree a lot with the talk of it getting more commercial, I can still happily spend the entire weekend in there and more. Hoping to focus a little more on actually gaming.

Perhaps even might say hello for once ;)

I'll be missing it for the second year running due to fugging work commitments. A bit silly really seeing as I only live about one mile away from the venue. To be fair, I enjoyed my time there in 2013 (particularly the arcade machines...and Jeff Minter!) but the stuff for sale there was overpriced in my opinion.

I see the event as basically the perfect opportunity for a 'meetup' with fellow community members, with a few games of pinball and vids to boot.
