I see the event as basically the perfect opportunity for a 'meetup' with fellow community members, with a few games of pinball and vids to boot.

Very much the same for me.

I'll be along on Sunday, with my youngest daughter in tow, who is planning on making herself at home in the minecraft area for the day.

I'm already in Manchester, arrived last night and here till Sunday, but for a different event (2 x Ruslana concerts at the Manchester Ukrainian club,first was last night, amazing night !!), no way I could have forked out that much for accomodation at the Trafford centre Prem Inn tho.
Managed to get Fri & Sat night at the Heaton Park Prem Inn for £135 .

I went on the Saturday with a couple of mates, had a great time. A few beers, and playing arcade games for hours, doesn't get much better than that. There didn't seem to be as many consoles as last time, but since I was mostly there for the arcade games it didn't make much difference to me.

A few people I spoke to agreed that there wasn't as many consoles this time. The pinball section was outstanding, however, and the whole thing seemed spaced out better than previous years to me.

I lost a pinball on Sunday morning. Two brackets snapped underneath the playfield of my Demolition Man

I can understand maybe one but two!?!?

They get some hammer over the weekend though. Constantly played.

Thought the arcade setup this year was excellent as usual - good job there Andy and James. Great selection of pins too.

As a whole, I was disappointed with the show - there was definitely less to play in terms of consoles etc, and there seemed to be more traders than in previous years - all charging premium prices I thought.

I didn't like the use of the dividing screens too, it made the thing impersonal I thought.

Traffic horrendous as usual in that part of the world!
