Would it be possible for you to take-off high rés. close up pictures of the Control panel plates and stickers?
Once I get a proper donor cab I'll make it into a Sheriff with the pcb I have...
So i'll need to repro / have vectorized all the artwork.
Your help would be much appréciated

I'll get decent pics sure using a tripod, real camera and avoiding reflections and shadows.

Probably better off with scans of Alex's Nintendo artwork but for sure I'll be getting mine captured for posterity.

Hi Franz
Are you going for a upright or cocktail ?
You've got everything for a upright haven't you ?

Hi Alex,

True, I have all the artwork for the Nintendo upright :)

But you know I only like the original stuff so I won't go fo the obvious solution of getting either a donor cab from another manufacturer or a plain new one (I like it when there are scratches and rust!!!!)

Some say "The journey is more important than the destination".

So, on a short scale, the cocktail seems a surer shot.

I more or less just need to find a Ninty cocktail shell. (I do not want to butcher a complete and working cab)

Hence my request for pics (I may also ask you by the way...)

For the upright, if and when I get the occasion of putting my hands on a proper Nintendo/Sega/Bell Fruit Sheriff cab, then I'll revive it (or die trying :) )

These look just like nintendo buttons to me, look just the same as type as my space firebird, just like pic above. Anyway you can get the screw in parts from here.
Have fun!

Got two of the green buttons through this morn (the only colour they had) and they are a perfect fit!

I do suspect the originals were probably white but these look a LOT better than no buttons!

Anyone know if the thread on Taito buttons was the same as Nintendo ones? Unlike Nintendo to do anything the same as anyone else :-D

Quick update... still have to pick a time to dismantle the cab and get the shot blasting and powder coating done on the main body and legs but I now have the corner clips rechromed and along with the buttons I added I think it makes a big difference to the overall look.

Thanks to Alex Chuckie Egg for sorting out getting these done.

I would have said the original bnuttons would have been red, like the fire buttons on Space Fever.

Might have been... or white if Taito did make it as Space Invaders had white for 1 and 2 player select.

Green was the only colour NOS Nintendo ones I could source. Would be good to try out red and white and see the difference.

Also need some rectangle stoppers for the leg ends.

I made some repro red buttons a while ago, but have ran out now. I could probably make white (when / if) I do some more. I did make 2x black ones also.

I did this to some Electrocoin Glass, just some of the cheap spray paint Aldi have, Gloss Black, removed all the original stuff and sprayed it on back and it turned out like this, wether you can buy proper stuff I don't know, but it worked

That looks great Bods. I did do a section with acrylic paint but it took ages and didn't work that well. I think masking and spraying the corner areas (at least) I will try out.

I was surprised that worked to be honest, but you couldn't tell it apart from original one after, gloss paint was perfect, only thing I was worried about is how it sticks, I did some laquer on back after and seemed ok

Just googling and see there are people doing it http://www.polyprep.co.uk/glass-spraying/

http://https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kobra-KOB-10072-600ml-Aerosol-Spray/dp/B0048LBTNE

Says this is good on glass and pretty much everything

I just used the aldi stuff because I buy loads of it when they reduce them, but don't use the black gloss for loads of things so thought I'd try it out

I'll be writing up a better blog post or three about the restoration but I've more or less finished the Sheriff restore... the legs will get re-chromed one day but otherwise I'm done...
