Why’s it always the good stuff that gets damaged .did you keep it in the off chance of repairing

From memory (30-odd maybe 40 years ago!) I think it was pretty terminal. It mainly snapped in two but it also sort of exploded on impact and anything remotely decorative like the spotlights and wing mirrors all pinged off.
