The President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele explains a few of the points raised in this thread.
I'm no expert, but he seems to know what he's talking about going from his own personal experiences of being a President.

From about 19 minutes is the most relevant, but for context it's an interesting viewpoint to watch from the beginning imo.

In finance aren't economists well known for their stupidity. Not related to your points in your post, just saying 😆
Like with any subject matter in life it usually takes some kind of brain power to figure out who understands the situation or doesn't. Sure there are plenty of stupid economists out there, there's also some good ones - you have to find them yourself.

If anyone wants to send me their worthless printed money feel free

My bad, I should have written worthless money printing for us or 'Quantitative Easing', which is the policy of providing more 'liquidity' in an economy, eg. giving the people on the street more access to debt, but more likely to be used by banks and the financial bods to mess about with venture capital, and buy more physical assets like nice buildings and wealth generating companies, where they all get a nice shiny dividend every month to pay for the good life.

Does it trickle down to my pocket or your pocket? Hell no, we get the benefit of inflation and ever increasing property, food and bill prices. Sure it might improve your chance of finding a job if there's more work out there, more companies hiring because they have better access to funding. It is just a growing bubble though, it can't go on forever without some kind of consequence.

Sure living standards have improved over the years but I'm betting that's off the back of hard working and underpaid people, not those in the upper circles of power deciding our financial misery.

"The World's Coolest Dictator", to quote his own words.
I don't know his history, or whether he's a cool dictator or not. But I can imagine growing up during their countries civil war had an impact on him during his childhood. El Salvador has an interesting history that's for sure.

The people seem to love him though.

Was just looking at WH Smiths trying to find info on something I have and reading an article. Didn't know this was the in thing till I read this from the new High St boss
Although we’re 225 years old, we move quite fast. It’s what makes the business great.
“We’re constantly optimising our space, looking at different ranges, making sure that new trends and fashions are put in front of our customers – ideally at a faster rate than our competitors. That’s almost our business as usual now.”
With this in mind, staying on-trend is a priority for Cowling.
Jumping on crazes, such as adult colouring books, has proven profitable for WHSmith in recent years.
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
they really are trying to dumb down the population like Moloko's song titled Dumb Inc

Is it me or do WH Smiths shops look like there closed when it's open, I walk past them all the time and they look closed or closed down, seeing old vs new pics of the stores, all the crap in the windows doesn't make me want to enter compared to years ago when you can actually see inside before going in which looks more inviting

How fithy the top one looks vs the old one below, doors shut like there closed, maybe winter but are there doors open in summer these days, don't think so

Nothing wrong with adult colouring books, each to their own ass they say.

I can confirm that WH Smith is part of the axis of evil though, having worked at their head office IT dpeartment for 9 months in 2007.
