If it's a corporate run place then no, they will not let you take anything or have the staff help you take anything because the corporation does not want to be held liable for injuries or damages sustained. That includes removal of the item, loading, getting it home, turning it on and electrocuting yourself, or injuring your eyes on some dodgy 80's cabinet artwork.
They fear absolutely any litigation whatsoever, and you know why? Because we live in where there's blame there's a claim Britain.
I worked for an international corporation once as an electrician / engineer. I needed to use sharp tools daily to cut stuff but all blades were banned onsite because a worker once cut themselves and sued. They also scrapped fully working electrical items such as test equipment, power supplies and oscilloscopes for the same fear of being sued.
Of course I used to have to trolly the equipment out to the WEEE bin, where it used to fall off the trolly right near my van, just outside of CCTV view.
